Sony PlayStation 3 and Nintendo Wii Pre-Sales. These highly-anticipated video game consoles will be in extremely short supply during their initial launch. During the launch of the similarly-released Microsoft Xbox 360, we saw a high number of well-intentioned sellers unable to meet their pre-sale obligations to buyers due to restricted supply, as well as an increase in fraudulent listings for these items. To prevent similar problems with these latest releases, the following restrictions have been placed on pre-sales for the PS3 and the Wii:

•Only one of each console can be listed per eBay account prior to the launch of the console (PS3 is expected to be available on 11/17/06, Wii on 11/19/06).
•The seller must only accept payment through PayPal, and have at least 50 feedback with a 98% or greater positive rating so that they qualify for PayPal Buyer Protection.
•The pre-sale item must be listed in the 3, 5, 7 or 10-day formats, and cannot use Buy It Now.
•The listing must include a photo of your pre-order receipt in the description.

We've seen some of these in previous threads, but the qualification for the BPP and the receipt photo are new, I believe, and this is the first official pronouncement (rather than just emails from Trust and Safety after takedowns).

"We've seen a lot of money made on console presales, and we want to guarantee our part of the action by forcing everyone to use PayPal...."

Couldn't have been decrypted any better.

While I dont disagree with you, wasnt there allot of fruad auctions when xbox came out? The reicpt thing is interesting

its pretty crappy.. i want to list another nintendo wii but i dont want my account banned.. i have more than 1 on pre order.. eBay is so dumb.. always protecting buyers.. but doesn't care about sellers

Were you born retarded or were you dropped a lot when you were a kid??

Its called BUSINESS simply put and not GREED. Don't bittch and moan here because you did not get any Pre-orders and you did not have any business sense to do so. I am not selling or have any pre-orders but I am not going to patronize others how have.

I agree, the new guy should not have jumped on someone who probably either stood in a long line or was online at midnight clicking preorder.

With the fact that Sony just reduced their output to America by 20% some preorders might not be filled and eBay is just making sure their behinds are covered.

Just do a PRTSCR on the order confirmation page. Open up MS Paint and paste it. You can then delete anything you do not want shown... save it as a .JPG and you are set.
