I really didn't think it would take off as much as this. Do you guys see these prices dropping significantly once the Wii hits the market on the 20th because there is more supply on their launch versus the predicted shortage with the PS3?

ebayers will be buying these up, which will cause a shortage, regardless of how many the stores have. I say it's a guaranteed $100 proft per unit all the way until christmas.

Time to call up the stores, I anticipate, at worst, 1 or 2 people outside a retailer for these. I just wonder how many preorders will have buyers backing out from $600+ prices.

there are already tents out at a few of the stores in my area

Rapa, are you doing fixed auctions on these? I know alot of us got reamed on the PS3 side because of one frikkin day

Prices are way down. There are several console/TP auctions ending in a few minutes that are barely scraping $350.

I just canceled my WalMart.com preorder. No need to deal with a huge package like that only to lose money.

Prices will tank on these. Not as many are buying these for resale purposes, but come Sunday, the after-markets will be flooded with Wiis. Profit margins will be in the 25% area which means on a $250 cost, the selling price will be in the $300 area or maybe even less. Accessories and games will actually lose money, so any type of "bundle" will not be good. This product does not have much potential for profit, so it is likely not worth the hassle.

There are 10 people out in front of my best buy just now freezing to death and zero people at Circuit City.

I'm watching the commentary going on at Amazon, it should be classified as a form of torture.

My WalMart had 20 available, and if you weren't there by 2pm you didn't get one. Best Buy is supposed to be getting 80 some systems. I drove by around midnight and my estimate is that 60 people were in line. The two Targets in town had 15 or so people for 30 available systems.

After seeing what happened to PS3s though, I'm guessing that there are a lot of ebayers out there. I decided the campout wasn't worth it, considering I don't know if there is ANY profit involved. If they make money, cool. I've got 5 preorders at GameStop with no camping.

a Wii just sold for $305 - a $50 markup and less incl. tax.

But then again, most of America is in bed right now.

i'll second that! I'm totally bummed because on launch I had 3 bundles ordered (costco, TRU and CC) but immediately cancelled the CC because I didn't think the resale market was going to be strong. Not to mention I was able to snag all three relatively easily, gave me an uneasy feeling. I even had free shipping on that CC order too if I remember correctly. Kicking myself now because that was a FREE call option for me. Oh well, who would have thought. My PS3's on the other hand can't even catch a bid anywhere.

I sold both of my Wii consoles on dec 1 and 2 (both for $410 console only), and I may have jumped the gun there. I honestly didn't think the Wii's were soing to be that hard to come by. I knew I was in trouble when I was at a Wii target line last sunday with dozens of grandma's. Those kids should be ashamed of themselves, sending out grandma Millie to stand 3 hours in the dark, cold morning. LOL!

I sold a Wii for $675.00 last friday. I have one more left to sell this week. Waiting to list until the middle of the week. Rumor is most stores are holding stock until the 17th so the number of Wii's on eBay should plummet driving prices even higher!

I've been buying 2 or 3 every day off craigslist for $350- $400 and reselling them for easy profit, hurry and check CL, folks, the well will run dry sooner or later

Rap,

I've been thinking about doing this too. Offering up $350 and seeing if anyone bites. I worry a bit though because although I see some eBay auctions ending around $550 console only, the norm I'm seeing is around 400-450. After fees and deadbeats, I would need a lot of volume for any results.

IMHO of course, YMMV.

Keep it coming though...good stuff here.

Man you must have high profit goals. If you can buy on CL for $350 and flip for $600 plus shipping even after fees that is close to $200 profit. Multiply that x 3 per day and you are looking at about $600 per day in profit. I think that is a pretty good supplemental income

Absolutely brilliant !!!

Rapacious, are you selling just the Wii box only or bundling games/accessories?

My Wii console-only auctions have been selling "only" in the $4xx range.

If you don't mind, can you please link to one of your listings? What time do you end them, which format (auction or BuyItNow), and which listing extras do you purchase, if any (bold, featured listings, etc.)?
