If he does file an unpaid item alert, be sure to respond with the PayPal transaction ID showing you paid. eBay now allows sellers to issue strikes without eBay review, so you may need to appeal the strike if you get one. That payment ID will allow you to do so.

If you believe you did pay in accordance with stated listing terms, you can also file a report for abuse of the UID credit system here.

Here is an eBay motors story. Won an auction and paid deposit, $500, thru paypal. When I went to pick it up, car was in pretty bad shape and pictures on the listing turned out to be very deceiving. Demanded a refund from seller but he refused. Though listing stated there is no refund, I was confident paypal would help me out since the item was not as described.

Here is the fun part, according to paypal rules, car is an intangible item so you are not covered if something goes wrong. When you go with eBay motors insurance thing, I am not covered either since I did not pay the full auction amount and did not receive the item. On the top that, that no refund clause in the listing was also used an excuse. This guy was professional crook, used card dealer, and taught me good lesson though I am a long time ebayer. Paypal CS was clueless about my questions and confirmed that this is a way of cheating people and they do nothing about it.

Long story short, luckely my paypal payment funded with bank account and wife urged me to talk with the bank. Thanks God, got the payment reversed. later my paypal balance became -500, told them the seller never shipped the item. since there is no shipment, i had no liability to anyone. Closed that paypal account and opened new one without giving out my social.

Since then I don't keep any money in my paypal account.

What do I do when seller has shipped an item to me by Priority mail (without insurance) with tracking and tracking says that the item has been delivered to my zipcode, but I have not received the item?

Ask your neighbors if they received it, & if they haven't, go down to the post office to ask them. If the item was less than $250, & USPS indicates it's been delivered to your zip, you will likely not win an INR claim. Unless it's an inexpensive item, & you do a lot of buying through eBay/PayPal, in which case PayPal might just eat the cost themselves.

I bought one stuff more than 200 hundred. Very weird was that Fedex left it on the ground of the building without any signature, I did not know when it came. By accidence, I found one large box standing on the ground, I went down stair and looked around. Hey, it was what i bought. I took the box upstair, opened and it is a new brand as AD. It works very well.

I needed a Staples coupon to complete a purchase. I bought one within 5 minutes and paid with pay pal immediately. Then I waited and waited and waited. The auction description said that they would e-mail the coupon code when payment was received. I contacted the seller through e-bay but got no response. I went to their auction store and sent them an e-mail. They replied that the didn't know I would need the coupon code immediately and that they had it at work. The following morning, the coupon code was e-mailed to me at 8 am. I immediatly placed the order but by then the items were out of stock. Am I just being impatient to expect that coupon code to be in an an e-mail to me the same day I completed the transaction? Every other time I have purchased a coupon, it was returned virtually immediately. Thanks for your reply!

S**t happens and, unfortunately, you have to wipe it off. You do not seem to be angry, when you have every right to be...receiving the code the next day may satisfy the sale but, does fall way short of expectations when most others send the coupon almost immediately upon purchase. It's a shame that you missed the deal and it cost you money...

I won a listing containing 3 "store returned" opened box wii remotes "look to be in excellent conditions". Received them very quickly, then voila 2 of of 3 did not work. Contact seller - very nice woman who said right away "that's not the way I do business" & a promise a partial refund & I don't have to ship them back (wat am I going to do with them now!?). well, my pp acct is frozen by paypal due to some stupid (but really funny) reason so no refund is received yet. But it's a pretty good feeling to know good people still exist on eBay.

Seller listed a defective item and I paid with CC thru' Paypal. I filed SNAD and paypal required me to ship it back on my own expense before seller will refund me. Any way I can get out of the return freight charges(18 pounds). Should I just get a credit card charge back? Thanks!

Your CC company may also require you to ship it back.

Thank you very much for the quick reply! If I mail it back and paypal make the seller refund me, would they credit my cc back or put money in my paypal account? If they put money back in my Paypal account, can I file CC dispute to get back the shipping charge? Thanks!

Can I file a complaint thru' eBay? Would eBay do anything?

Do I just eat up the return shipping cost? What else can I do?

If you ship back with tracking/DC after PayPal tells ou to do so, then you will get back up to $200 (or $2k, depending on the BPP terms) for the original payment (item price + shopping). You will not get back your return ship fee.

If you paid by CC originally, I believe the refund is credited back to the CC, but I may be wrong on that.

No, you cannot file a chargeback to recover the money you pay in return shipping.

You can file a nonperforming seller complaint through eBay, but that will not get you your return ship fee back.

I sold an item couple of weeks back and I have not recd any FB. that concerns me. I think he may even file SNAD claim. I only got signature confirmation since this was under $200. I asked him to leave FB but had not done so.

I wouldn't worry too much about not getting feedback. I often don't get feedback. As long as you have your tracking numbers, you'll be fine.

Separately, why are you concerned that the buyer will file SNAD? When I ship something, I can't think of a time when I would expose myself to an SNAD.

I just bought iphone 3g for about $400 after using 10% and 30% CashBack yesterday. The seller had 0 rating but had many items for sale on his website. Today morning i got email from eBay & paypal stating that my transaction is under review because the listing has been removed from eBay. I checked for the sellers name and found that all of his listing was removed. Paypal has put the transaction on hold, but my credit card shows the debit. What is the best course of action?

I would call Paypal and your credit card company just to have a record of what is going on.
