Hmm looks like i read it backwards, isnt Amazon really buyer friendly tho?

Pricing

There are no start-up charges, monthly charges, hidden fees, or long-term contracts when using Checkout by Amazon.

Fees are assessed on a per-transaction basis and vary depending on the transaction amount. They are based on a percentage of the transaction amount plus a per transaction fee.

For Transactions >= $10:
2.9% + $0.30 for all transactions

Volume Discounts

2.5% + $0.30 for all transactions for monthly payment volume from $3k-$10k
2.2% + $0.30 for all transactions for monthly payment volume from $10k - $100k
1.9% + $0.30 for all transactions for monthly payment volume over $100k

For Transactions < $10:
5.0% + $0.05 for all transactions

The 5% is only for transactions less than $10.

A $10 charge will have $.59 in fees. 10 x .029 + .30 = .59
A $9.99 charge will have $.55 in fees. 9.99 x .05 + .05 = .5495

A $5.00 charge at the 5% rate will have $.30 in fees. 5.00 x .05 + .05 = .3
A $5.00 charge at the 2.9% rate will have $.45 in fees. 5.00 x .029 + .30 = .445

For some reason it looks like they are saving you money by charging the higher percentage rate on the less than $10 charges. Maybe my math is wrong.

Doesn't beat Google Checkout - still the best option. IMHO
