I know it's on all of your minds, you greedy bastards

Some reports coming in, looks like there will be 11,000 tickets, all free. Date will be on tuesday July 7 from 10am to 12 noon.

With 9.5% unemployment, I think it's going to be hard for some to resist reselling these.

As for me? There are some lines you just don't cross...you don't mow another guy's lawn.

This thread is more for the discussion/prevention of this activity, and I don't think anyone with a soul would condone doing this.

If you see tickets being sold on the bay, please post here so we can address it. If eBay decides not to address the issue, I have several well established bay accounts where I will be bidding with no intent to pay

should the registration commence online, I have 45 netbooks set up for when registration goes live, I will be getting as many free tix as I can and give them away free on the morning of the event.

I'm in. Don't profit off of someone dying I say.

Jacko had no problem charging people $50 or $500 for his concert tickets, so why should I feel bad if someone decides to make few bucks off his memorial tickets.

Pendulum swings both ways...

Exactly. And it's not like the people who actually belong at this funeral (friends and family) are getting scalped, they're going free.

How to get tickets to Michael Jackson's memorial service
Tickets for Michael Jackson's public memorial will be distributed by fans registering for Michael Jackson's public memorial at Staplescenter.com. If fans are selected at random they will be notified by email on Sunday.

The Staples Center website is receiving tremendous traffic. Please be patient and keep trying.

17,500 tickets will be released for Michael Jackson's memorial. 11,000 of those tickets will allow entrance to the Staples center. The remaining tickets will allow access to the Nokia Theatre across the street for a simulcast.

The memorial service for Michael Jackson will be held on Tuesday, July 7th at 10:00 a.m. at Staples Center in downtown Los Angeles, California and simulcast inside to Nokia Theatre L.A. LIVE across the street.

This story is still developing

How little would an artist have to charge in order for you to feel bad about someone making money off of their death?

OP: You have 45 netbooks set up to snag tickets so you can hand them out yourself? So basically you are trying to take them away from other people who want to fairly get the tickets online so YOU can control their distribution? Sounds like you have too much time on your hands.

Admission Tickets are nontransferable and non-exchangeable.

I don't think I'm going to mess with this one. There's far too much potential law enforcement attention.

Frankly, I wouldn't give two craps if he sang for free, but as we all know that wasn't the case. Point is, his demise is as much of a spectacle as his life was. If someone is willing to pay to attend his final show then there will be someone willing to deliver the coveted ticket, for a fee. You amassing 45 computers to horde the tickets, depriving people of a fair chance, is as much of a greed as acquiring just one and selling it to a willing fool. You may have a genuine need for a "high and mighty" attitude but don't come here preaching what's right and what's wrong.

Hay op feel free to fire up your 45 computers and buy them HERE ON EBAY

If you want o waste your time , oh and your not any different then the people who are selling them. You want to scarf them up with 45 computers.

In the unlikely chance that i win a ticket, I'll keep it, if I can't make it from NJ to LA in the allotted time. The memorabilia value will probably go up at some point.

How long after his death does it become okay to sell the unused ticket to collectors? Just curious.

You do realize there are no actual physical tickets right? If chosen, you bring your email confirmation with two pieces of ID (one must be a photo ID) to the Staples /Nokia center "will call" and exchange for wrist bands that will be attached by AEG staff to you and your guest's wrists at time of your redemption.

What a good way of keeping 'em terrorists at bay.

haha,

This thread reminds me of Miley's tour which is paperless tickets, to prevent the secondary market shooting up price like they did with her first tour.

You do realize there's something called "internet ephemera"? People are trying to figure out how to keep & document this stuff in order to collect and sell. It's actually a budding market. Ultimate ephemera.

Mind you, I don't really know much about it except that I have a friend who is into it. He's convinced that the MJ death thing is going to put digital collecting on the map. He also has a nice tinfoil hat collection, so I'd take it all with a grain of salt. But, who knew that toy boxes were going to be worth more than toys someday, etc?
