This seller" ANSTJS " posting " NFL Referee Hats " that are completely unlicensed and do not exist. He is buying a generic hat and posting the NFL symbol on it. Obviously, I alerted eBay several times and refuse to do anything. Now with a new sellers account or a old one he had . " amber42672 " and eBay lets him sells? Crime must on pay when your on eBay. old seller http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=150359842894
Its also a interesting note that how he is a Powerseller and they wont take down his account. It must be nice to own a tee shirt printing press and print up unlicensed merchandise for any company and sell it. I think everyone should quit their day job and follow this guy's lead.... since nobody on eBay cares lol
when it comes to authenticity questions, eBay is going to listen to the rights holder not some random user such as yourself. If the NFL or whoever holds the rights to that license contacts eBay, the listings will be taken down. until then, nothing you can do.
I've dealt with NFL apparel on eBay for about the past 5 years. The counterfeiting is rampant and hard to compete against. Even Reebok knows it is going on on eBay and doesn't care to do anything about it. If the copyright holder doesn't press the issue, why would eBay want to clean it up?
I just now looked at the auction and actually don't see anything wrong with it. He took a what is probably a licensed NFL patch and attached it to a hat. The seller is not stating it's an official hat or anything like that. What's the problem?
Now if the NFL shield isn't licensed, that is a problem.
You'll have more luck reporting to the NFL - it's their revenue loss. Eventually eBay will get sued.
eBay can't tell legit from non-legit products.. So what do you want them to do? They're defaulting to the policy that makes them money until they're served with papers.
I sold some legit NFL products (from NFLshop.com) recently. I was buried with spam from China offering to manufacture these products for me.
If you want genuine name brands, then buy it from the actual name brand's store. People like the OP annoy me. I don't care myself where I get it or how legit it is as long as it looks reasonably like the real thing and costs me 75% less.

Personally I think the NFL kind of screwed themselves. $300 for a jersey? It is a counterfeiters dream (especially when people profit on selling good fakes for $25). I go to Steeler games and most of the time, I can spot a fake. I would say that 95% of the Steeler fans who wear stitched jerseys are fakes. I remember going to games 10 years ago and may have seen 1 or 2 stitched jerseys the entire day. Now, almost half of the stadium is wearing them.
People want these jerseys. The replica's are pieces of crap. Really, if the jersey looks identical to the authentic, why pay $80 for a replica if you can get a "Real" one for half the cost? Should eBay be allowed to sell these? ABSOLUTELY NOT. But obviously, as the poster wrote, they do.
And if you don't want to buy from eBay, I bought from a site on Yahoo Shops. They actually have more player selection than the NFL and team websites. They have NHL, MLB, NFL, NBA and they take Paypal. They shipped to me quick.
