Police log: Box of rocks in eBay return

The buyers who switching the item after online sales are rising I guess due to the economy.

A man on the 400 block of East Sixth Street called Tracy police at 11:11 a.m. Sunday and said he got swindled on an eBay return. He sold a hydrogen generator for $475. The buyer returned the item for a refund but sent back a box full of rocks instead of the generator.

The man said he had to get a police report before eBay would start investigating the return. Tracy police forwarded him to the San Joaquin County Sheriff’s Office........

Sucks, hope I never come across a swindler like that.

On another note, some of these are priceless:

"8:55 p.m.: A caller reported a man trying to impersonate a firefighter in front of Tracy Fire Department Station 97, 595 W. Central Ave. He was described as wearing a black T-shirt, shorts, combat boots, and “some sort of jungle hat.” Police later told the caller the man is not the firefighter impersonator they are looking for."

"7:37 p.m.: Near the corner of Interstate 580 and Corral Hollow Drive, a bull got stuck in a fence. Police referred the caller to the Stanislaus County Sheriff’s Office."

"9:30 p.m.: A caller found a car at Valero, 2420 W. Grant Line Road, with all four tires off and “nasty naked girl pictures” all over the windshield. A Valero employee told cops that the owner left the car, which had broken down, at the gas station on Friday, promising to return Saturday."

"11:27 a.m.: Someone called Save Mart Supermarket, 875 S. Tracy Blvd., on Saturday, making threats to blow up the pharmacy and the store with dynamite at 3 p.m. Tuesday."

Sounds like a happening little town!

7:58 p.m.: A man in his mid-40s became angry while dining at Firkin & Beaver Restaurant and Pub, 2712 Naglee Road, when he was told the kitchen was out of steaks. He reportedly did not want to pay for his drinks, which totaled over $20. Police caught the man at a nearby restaurant and convinced him to pay his bill.

9:58 p.m.: A caller reported sideshow activity near the corner of Mae Avenue and Carlton Way. Police checked the area out a few minutes later and found nothing suspicious.
