I sold a $200 item and when buyer submitted a best offer I told him I was not going to ship to B-H unless payment was non-pp (I thought it was a high-risk country)

Today, he purchased it at full price. PP protection says covered and I am not sure what to do. His fb is 7 and purchase price range from $3 to $32.

So you told him no paypal and he decides to do a BIN so he can use paypal? That's a red flag alert IMO.

Send with tracking, you "should" be okay. I send stuff around the world and have very few issues. Can you eat a $200 loss if needed? If not, cancel the sale.

I only do international when the specific item is likely to command a significantly higher price in foreign countries. So far that's only about 1% of my auctions. I usually check the no international box for the other 99% which results in higher feedback, higher DSR's, less hassles and much less overhead.

Did you get paid enough for Global Express Mail?

The eastern europe part is considered scammers paradise like Romania etc.

3rd pary insurance services like U-PIC don't offer insurance to Bosnia since the country is considered high risk zones.

$200 is a very expensive item to loose.

If you ship use usps EMI as it has tracking eventhough it is expensive.PMI has no tracking.

PMI does have tracking as long as the package is not rated as a flat rate envelope.

From usps Tracking is not available for Priority Mail International Flat Rate Envelopes or Priority Mail International Small Flat Rate Boxes.

I also heard PMI tracking for large boxes are not very reliable.

Can anyone post their experience of PMI tracking. Is it reliable like EMI ?

PMI tracking is fairly reliable. Sometimes the tracking drops off once the item reaches customs (it really depends on the country). I shipped a couple of items to Dubai and the tracking dropped off. UK, Germany, Spain, France, Ireland, HK, Japan have been good. Brazil has been good but very slow.

My experience with PMI tracking, on the other hand, has been very bad. I shipped stuff to a half a dozen different European countries (UK, Norway, Denmark, France, Switzerland, and Italy) as well as Japan. I've also shipped stuff to French Polynesia, New Caldonia, and Australia with the same result. Half of the items didn't get any scans past the acceptance scan at the post office. The others were scanned upon entry to customs, then dropped off. Not a single one got a scan from acceptance to delivery.

The ONLY country I ship to where I have been able to routinely get scans for PMI is Canada (although transit is around ~2 weeks). The rest, unfortunately, have to go express as it seems it's the only way to reliably get it scanned - this is my current policy.

USPS, on the other hand, is completely unhelpful and refuses to say which countries will get a PMI scan upon delivery...and I can guarantee you Bosnia won't be one of them.

Edit: I forgot to mention. The items I shipped were either thick envelopes (around ~3/4 inch or 1 inch) or small boxes (6x6x6). None of them ended up being scanned. I never heard back from the buyers so I assume everything went well.

Well, I got the buyer to pay through WU. Got $ in my pocket, now I guess I will follow through with the sale. I never thought I would get paid.

Can WU get back to me asking for their money back? Never heard of that one before.

One you get money from WU there is no risk. You can send the item.its like cash on hand for item sold.
