OK, I know this topic is the third-rail of eBay discussions. But I'm not looking for specific widget recommendations, nor specific suppliers if you feel that is too proprietary.
But just how do you find items worth selling? General tips would be most appreciated, including as much or as little detail as you feel comfortable sharing.

I think the success to selling is flexibility (everything has a price) and keeping your eyes open for opportunities everywhere. You will not find these opportunities reading fatwallet.

eBay is a wondeful venue for niche markets. Think outside the box and find a niche. The niche can be a product or a service. Pick something that you can do at home part time and that's easy to ship and has low fraud potential.
Now focus on doing it as good as you can. Even if you don't have competition assume you will.
Build up high feedback and DSR's by taking care of your customers.

eBay actually is not a great place to sell anymore. if you trying to sell anything that is low $$$ than is a great place to sell!!

Funny, my thinking is the exact opposite. For me, items that are rare, hard to find, unusual, and not too heavy go on eBay. Low value and large items go to the swap meet, flea market, yard sale, or craigslist.
low value, common items have too much competition.

Very true, if you find a common item at a good price that becomes successful, count on other sellers jumping in with lower prices.
