I've sold an item (~$125) on Amazon and the shipping address is an APO. In Iraq. Great.
I know that signature confirmation is out of the question and delivery confirmation, if at all, is spotty. I am inclined to cancel the sale, since I'm ending up shouldering all the liability and shipping stuff to Iraq simply does not sound particularly appetizing. Opinions?
Did you or can you charge enough shipping to cover Express mail? You should have pretty good tracking and confirmation with that service. As far as I know, you still cannot force a signature or at least a web-available view of the signature. Possibly even Priority would show the tracking, not sure though.
Since Amazon require SC as proof of delivery especially for items over $100,you may loose a claim if the buyer claim non-receipt.
If you like to proceed with sale, I will insure the package with usps and send with DC which is available to some apo/fpo address.

I had an order from an APO address that I would have lost money on after the shipping charges. I politely told the buyer I do not ship to APO addresses and issued a full refund. Done.

Amazoo doesn't require anything. They advise you to get a SC for expensive items, but it's up to you. I personally rarely get SC for anything below $200-$300.
That being said, I stopped shipping to APO/FPO completely, after I had a spike of "item not received" claims from APO/FPO. All were settled to my satisfaction one way or another, but it's simply not worth it.
