Has anyone ever tried using expandable foam you buy at the building centers to package items that sometimes get damaged when thrown?
the stuff you get in a can to fill in those crevices and so on?

Not worth the cost imo unless you are dealing in high end fragile materials.

Wrap the item in plastic. Now use the minimal expanding type of foam. After it cures then pack with lots of padding in a strong box.

How are you shipping? I would make sure that there is also enough insurance.

I think this is a great idea.....I hope it works, I don't see why it wouldn't, once you perfect a method.

I've seen people do this, they spray it into plastic which molds around the item.

Martin Logan uses expandable foam to pack their electrostatic speakers for worldwide shipping. One of the best packing material unless your box gets punctured by the forks of a forklift.
