It sure seems to be shaping up that way!

I know the profit margin won't be in the PS3 territory but you can buy two WII for each PS3.

yep, plus the wii will be easier for resellers to get. If you've got an extra $250 laying around, why not?

I already asked this in the PS3 thread, but...
Do you think we need to sell Wii preorders before launch? Is there any evidence that the Wii will be hard to get, aside from preorders being hard to get?

I heard that anyone who is selling preorders is having their paypal accounts freezed.
Is this true? or a Rumor?

I had mine frozen but the message from Paypal said it was "due to a sudden increase in account volume." Not sure if the preorder is what flagged it or if any item for that much would have done it. I really hadn't sold much recently then within the last month sold several items including 2 lcd tvs and a Wii preorder.

I called Paypal. It took 20 min. to get to an actual person, and they told me all I could do to restore my account was provide a tracking number for all items (which obviously can't be done until nov. 20) or refund the preorder, so that's what I did. I had $4,000 in my Paypal account that I didn't want frozen in there through launch. I thought about mailing the reciept so that I'd have a (fake) tracking number to give, but decided not to risk that in fear that it could get me suspended from eBay/paypal.

I had a friend (who is a powerseller) list another Wii preorder for me, and his account has not been frozen.

Edit: I just called Paypal again (still trying to restore my account- Its now in review, supposed to be taken care of in the next 2-5 days). This time I specifically asked if all people sellling Wii or PS3 preorders were having their accounts limited. I was given a rather vague response of "there was an issue on eBay with the preselling, I don't have an statistics of how many accounts have been limited and how many haven't."

It's about time, we started this thread. As for the frozen accounts, according to PAYPAL you can not ACCEPT payment until 7 days before shipping. So November 12 is the magic day. Any payment accepted before that = freeze city. This is Paypal I am talking about NOT eBay. eBay rules are different which are posted in the link above.

I just did a quick glance on eBay and I'm simply amazed. The Wii preorders are selling for near 100% of the retail value of $250. I really didn't think it would take off as much as this. Do you guys see these prices dropping significantly once the Wii hits the market on the 20th because there is more supply on their launch versus the predicted shortage with the PS3?

Mine sold yesterday for 600. I didn't include any extras. I was going to hang on to it, but most people seem to think it won't be impossible to find later. I took a risk, I figured at least I'll be getting mine for free now. I didn't have my paypal account frozen, all funds transferred to my bank already. It was worth my while.

breely, I think it's a risk if you HOLD onto it past the launch date. They're expecting 4 million out by the end of this year with a bulk to North America I believe so this is the best time. Dang, I wish I got in on this...

I sold mine after a preorder from EBgames for $550 or so. I called EBgames and they are actually getting more in than they thought. They are getting in less ps3's. I would say sell now.

ebayers will be buying these up, which will cause a shortage, regardless of how many the stores have. I say it's a guaranteed $100 proft per unit all the way until christmas.

Think there is any profit in the bundles from WalMart (wii + 8 games)?
