So what exactly is the deal on getting discounted USPS rates for online postage that were supposd to take effect with the new rates? Is it only available via their website or will the eBay shipping tool also offer them? I'm assuming that Shipping Assistant where you pay at the post office) does not qualify). I guess if it's only through the USPS site then it will only be Priority (and Express?) Mail that it applies to.

PayPal's postage generator is supposed to provide the discounts. It's set to take effect at 9pm PT today (iow, in ~ 8 minutes).

Will it apply to Media Mail or just Priority?

Saved 5 cents printing at Paypal.com ($4.75) versus shipping at the PO for ($4.80)... Was on a priority mail package.
So Paypal is also offering the discount.

Just found out for Endicia users you need to use conocated barcodes ie. the (420) XXXXX zipcode-number.

Was not aware of this discount. Seems like it's 1% off or so.

Well thanks Post Office. I now get 5 cents off my Priority Mail packages but a ~20 lb Express Mail parcel to Australia jumped from ~$88 to ~$112. What's the rate of inflation again?

Awesome.

On the other hand, relatively local Express Mail shipments went down in price, at least the numbers I saw for light items did.
