This happened a few years ago but I thought I'd post the story (its pretty funny now that time has passed):
Okay, so I helped my mom sell her first item on eBay. It sold for $150. We decided to ship it UPS. We went there first and had the sales lady help pick out a box for the item (we brought the item with us). We ended up packaging it there and the sales lady helped us a bit. Everything looked great and we bought insurance for the item and sent it off. A week later I get notified by buyer that the item broke during shipment. We do the whole insurance claim and basically it had to be sent back to Bakersfield (where we lived at the time) to have it inspected by the owner of the store (they said it was policy) so the buyer sends it back... Eventually the owner calls us and tells us that we will not get our insurance claim because of the packaging (the packaging was okay, imo) So my mom is talking on the phone to the owner and she starts crying. Of course, I wonder whats up since my mom is usually a tough cookie. Ends up the guy said to her "Try to get the insurance bitch. I've gone through this many times and your not gonna get it." among calling her many other nasty things. So I call and he says the same to me and says that if we dont come and pick up the package then he's gonna throw it away. After speaking with the UPS headquarters and blah blah blah (they were friendly and said they'd look into it).. my mom and I went to go get the package. We pick it up, get in the car and open it....... there was feces all over. It was the most disgusting thing Ive ever seen. We called the police right there and they came. We filed our police report and never heard a single thing again. Never got insurance either.
So thats why I'll never use UPS again. The owner seriously shit (or used someone elses shit) on my item. lol I can laugh about it now but geez it was awful at the time
(I explained it short here but it took over a month to get our item back and another few more months trying to get some justice which never happened)
