For Sale/For Trade

Purpose

We want to create an avenue within our community for direct buying/selling/trading. Right now, this forum is only open to one-time use coupons. Members may engage one another with offers via our public forums and PM system.

This forum is meant to be member-to-member transactions. We do not allow merchants to post for their wares. Merchant posts will be deleted and considered a form of self-promotion that is restricted by our User Agreement. (If merchants would like to advertise with us, they talk with us by dropping in their e-mail here.)

Our role in this is simply to create space for transactions to happen. We are not responsible in any way for the transactions. And, in the case of bad deals, we reserve the right to relinquish personal information if approached by law enforcement or any other agency we feel is appropriate.

Rules

All the forum rules for FatWallet apply as found in the User Agreement.
Posting Tips
Every post should begin with its intent (BUY:, SELL:, TRADE:, BEG:, or GIVE in the title. The item should follow. And after the title should come the store in parentheses.

Example: BEG: $50 off $100 (Staples)

The Original Post ("OP") of the thread should have all relevant details, including pictures and shipping costs. Once the transaction is complete, the Original Poster (also "OP") should mark the thread CLOSED.

Example: (CLOSED) BEG: $50 off $100 (Staples)

We notice people selling codes on eBay sometimes clarify as follows: 'You're buying my time to find and display this code, rather than the code itself.' We're no attorneys, but it's a heads-up if you're wondering.

Interaction and Verification Tips

Always be wary of making transactions over the web when you are unfamiliar with someone. Research the person and make an effort to find out who the other person is and whether she or he is reliable. Verify your contact and mailing information. Have shipments verified in some way. Do not ship anything until payment is made. Make payments only in ways that minimize financial risk (such as PayPal or credit card).

There are sites out there that can help when researching a person. You will want name, address, and phone number (landline, not cell).

Remember: FatWallet is not responsible in any way for transactions made on our boards. Those personally involved in transactions accept full responsibility. That means if something goes awry, we will not be involved in the resolution of the issue. That's strictly between the buying/selling/trading parties.
