It depends on the person and your bed. Ive posted before that I get horrible headaches, severe pain in my back, shoulders, neck and head. Ive always felt my bed was rock hard very firm. People used to say a firm bed was good for you. Anyway I started putting blankets and more pillows and it got a bit better but it could still result in horrible hangover type feelings. I priced beds and thought 1000 bucks was ridiculous. I looked at memory toppers too and waited for a cheap deal. I saw a cheap therafoam topper at Wall Mart --- not memory foam which is much better. It was so cheap I tried it. It was marginally better. So I bought another and used both. That and some thick blankets and several pillows -- when its adjusted right 99% the pain went away. It was like a miracle. For some people I think a proper memory topper --- basically an overall proper bed set up can make a huge difference. It really depends on the person, situation.

I love memory foam and would never go back to regular mattress. But it does get hot in the summer. It mold to your body and half of your body is embedded in the foam. If you live somewhere that is really hot in the summer and you don't have AC, it could get uncomfortably hot at night.

Its about the same as one of those egg carton foam things you can get cheap.

Also, putting a regular pillow under your knees @ night (if you sleep on your side, put it betwixt your knees) can take the pressure off your back & align it right & youll feel much better when you get up.

You can get them at Costco pretty reasonable. They come in two layer models with some fabric you use to keep those layers together.
