I can not believe that an air bed would be a good purchase. I know how vinyl can dry or
crack or tear or be torn. Just a tiny impossible to find hole will cause it to be worthless.

Remembering some fabirc coated wtih rubber , military products, now these would not
be a bad purchase. They were 2 man floating contraptions not beds. But if a bed oh
how they would last.

Now I'm needing a bed in Queen or learger and having little money have kept a very
old mattress which sits on the floor. Moving soon means I don't want to invest in a
'real' bed with so much to move. Nor do I want to subject it to damage from moving
if it's a nice frame.

So what is the choice?

It seems that Amazon's prices on air beds has dropped alot lately. But what do you say?

Thanks for a thoughtful reply.

an air matress is good in a pinch, but not for normal everyday sleeping. Is this just for you or for company?

If for you, just get a bed frame (metal) without head/foot boards and invest in a good matress and boxspring. Honestly, if you fark your back up by sleeping on crap night after night, you'll pay the rest of your life.

There maybe some good permanent air bed out there, but they are all part air part mattress. The air is for adjusting the firmness of the mattress, and they are very expansive. Since you are moving soon, I suggest you get a 4 inch memory foam mattress topper from eBay. We have been using one for 5 years and it turns an old mattress into a tempur-pedic. Eventually you will still have to change out your old mattress, but you can keep the topper.

Try out an airbed from Target. It's easier to return at Target than at Amazon.

Also take a look at some of the options here.
Edit: And don't forget to check out Craigslist. It can help you for both buying and selling when you want to move.
