I bought my wedding ring from Jared's Galleria of Jewelry in Washington State. It had three princess cut diamonds set into it, with all of them next to each other. This is a mens ring by the way, so they are set down into a grove of the ring so they are flush with the band.
The first time the diamond fell out 1 week after getting my required 6 month inspection to keep my warranty to cover these sorts of things. Took about 3 weeks to get it fixed, and it didn't look that good.
Now 5 months after getting the ring fixed the diamond that they put in fell out. I took it in on May 23rd and at first they said 3 weeks to send it to main repair center. The 3 weeks passed and no word back, called them and they said it had to be returned to vendor. Doing this they said they do not expect it back until the beginning of August. I asked to get a full refund, they said no.
So now i am weighing my options.
Do i:
Wait to get ring back and hope it doesn't happen again?
Go in ask to get a different ring and forgot about the original one?
Tell them i want a full refund in a demand letter, if not i will go to small claims court?
Anyone have similar type of experience or any ideas.
Also i do not recommend Jareds to anyone after these experiences.
I should note that i wear the ring to work and out at night or on the weekends. It usually comes off when i get home and i don't wear it when i work out or do any work that will get my hands dirty. I probably wear it an average of 10-12 hours a day.
