I bought a Seagate HD from outpost.com with seagate rebate in August,2004. The rebate showed up at rebateshq.com, but the check didn't come till now. It has been 16 weeks...Actually I bought some Seagate HDs after that and none of the rebate come either.
This is the worst manufacturer rebate I've ever seen so far. Another one is Panasonic.
call the 1-800 numbe ryou will hear that they have a backlog on seagate rebates and a check will be mailed to you asap (if you will ever see it). Good luck and you will need it.

The only thing I can conclude is that Seagate is in financial trouble so it has to:
(1) Increases sales with big rebate offers (lure) (2) Postponds the payment of rebates (trick) I had the problem, of them saying my drive was OEM,and denied the rebate,I called this number 800-393-6510 and explained to CSR the problem,gave her my info that the package slip showed my drive was a retail drive,and she fixed my rebate. I later checked the link they give u to track rebate and it had been corrected to valid and scheduled for final processing. I also recieved a card saying I neded to resubmit info,but after calling number on card (800-753-9823) the CSR assured me I didn't need to resubmit and should have rebate in 4-6 weeks. Good luck.

Yes,my check for August purchase mailed too. But still waiting for other checks coming. Let's see...
