Hi all

I just bought the Kensington Saddlebag Pro from Buy.com (37.99 - 25 rebate - 2% FatWallet Cash Back). After the checkout, this offer came up from one of its affiliates called "Great Fun", which basically offers a 2-month free membership (and a recurring $9.99 per month charge after that), which can be cancelled by calling a toll-free number. I signed up for that because they give me a $ 25 rebate for this.

I saw another thread which mentioned about its parent company (Trilegiant) having many lawsuits against it.

Does any of you have any prior experiences with this "great fun" rebate/offer? I was wondering if I should wait for the rebate to arrive, or just cancel it first thing in the morning, for I value peace of mind much more than 25 bucks (duh!).

did it myself and rebate came through. You have to wait until they send you a card. Then make sure you cancel before they bill you. But you can play this one and win.

Thanks Jane.
Today, they sent me an online coupon which has to be printed out and mailed for $25 off. Am sending it asap.

You need to wait until your great fun package comes in the mail. It has your number on it that you need for the rebate. I thought I had verything necessary and was about to mail it out but got distracted. Then the package came before I mailed it.

Do you mean the membership number? I already received that in the email.

And the form (look here: Great Fun $25 rebate) just needs my name, address, date and membership number.

Did you send a similar form, or was it something different?

I wonder if I should wait for their packet in snail mail, considering they sent me the rebate coupon and my membership # via email itself.

the number you received in the email is not the one that will come on your card. It is NOT what they are looking for. Wait until you get your packet in tthe mail. It should only be a week or two.

Oh, OK. Thanks for the sage advice.

Will wait till the packet arrives. Somehow it's disturbing to know that the membership no. would be different in the email and the snail mail packet - makes the company's policies dubious, to say the least.

JaneInMA,

Sounds like you were able to get the rebate within the 2 month trial period. Am I correct? I went for the same offer last night, and was concerned they might drag it out until the two month trial had elapsed and then deny the rebate since I wasn't a member. These deals are always iffy at best, but I got lured in by the $25. Hope I'm able to get it. Also, how long after signing up did it take to receive the e-mail with rebate form? Thanks for the help!

How many times can you sign up with Great Fun, cancel and get the rebate?

w00t!
I signed up for this offer in August. I submitted the $25 rebate and cancelled right before the 'free trial' was going to end.

they just sent me a check for $25. I have had no charges from the company or other weirdness. If you have a lot of extra time and a good memory, this may just be worth your time...
now that I have a real job, I wouldn't bother. there are too many hoops to jump through.
