so $69.98 - $15 Coupon - $25 MIR - $30 MIR = -.02 for a phone and $15 starter airtime?
You got green.

The problem (at least for me) is that the phone needs to be on a T-Mobile TO GO plan to qualify for the rebate. I was thinking of getting the phone and using it for my current T-Mobile service

Why not use it until you get the rebate and switch the sim?

Mnn, have a T-Mobile To Go (prepaid) # already but no money in it can I get this and switch that # onto this SIM? since the rebate requires new activation
Ha ha, sorry, I still wanted to confirm I don't think I'll be getting it anyway, rebates wait is kinda long

Rebate says "must do X". You are asking if you can do Y and still get the rebate.
Why even ask when you know the answer -- no, this won't work.

So how does the T-Mobile To Go plan work? Do we activate it at Tmobile site after getting the phone or is there somewhere on HSN to do it?

minutes will expired in 30 days. Suppose you need 3 month to get those rebates. So if you want to get rebate. You have to pay another 2x$10 for each phone to hold it for 3 month.

huh? it's 60 days. Tmobile currently has one of the best prepaid plan IMO.
TryToBuy said: Does $15 Air Time has expiration? I am not planning to use this phone much. yes, it does. and it is not that many minutes either (I think it is only 50 minutes). However, buy a $100 card, and you will get 1000 minutes, that expire after a year. And here comes the neat part: you can buy the $100 card for $80 at Staples/Office Depot if you have a $20/$100 coupon (and add rewards). Also this week the cards are on sale at Target for $89. So you spend $80-90 and get 1000 minutes for a whole year - about 85 minutes a month for about $7.
I just checked on the 6800 I got, June 12, good till August 12. ($15.00 60 minute card that came with it)
The rebate will be processed in plenty of time. If you are going to eBai it, I would wait until you got eMail confirmation that they are working on it.
How's this tmobile to go plan compared to free2go? I know free2go was bought over by cingular, and seems to me that cingular prepaid plan sucks. However, I checked tmobile to go plan, kind of expensive, isn't it? (min/$ wise)

From the tmobile site: Refill within 90 days after your account expires and you will keep your mobile number. After 90 days, your account will be canceled and your phone number surrendered. If you wish to restart service, you will need to purchase a new activation code.

Yes, you can change the sim card. But, you will not have the same number. Then refill either card. You could use up the eBay card and then go back to the card that came with the phone and have that number again.
