The folllowing is a public service announcement. If you are having problems with recent Walgreens EasySaver Rebates (missing, miscalculated, false rejections), it is time to resubmit.

Walgreens rebates had always been very reliable and nearly problem-free over the years for me. But my last three submissions have had problems, including my last one being missing entirely. I called CS, and the rep gave a candid explanation. Walgreens has opened 2500 new stores recently, and they are simply swamped.

I trust they will resolve things, but if you have an issue, don’t wait, resubmit. Fax your rebate to:
866-843-9972
Attn: Dept. 5111-806

Include name, address, and gift card no. (if applicable). Check back in 7 days to see if status has been updated.

Thanks...don't have a fax machine though.

For me, it's time to stop shopping the rebates at Walgreens until they can get their act together....especially since it's usually stuff I don't need anyway.

I also ran into a missing submission. Faxed them a copy to the same FAX number.

Keep in mind the Dept number changes with month i.e. I faxed for septermber = Dept 5111-906.

I never got my July or September 2006 rebates from Walgreens. Did this happen to anyone else?

I just realized that in both of those months I ordered the rebate items from walgreens.com. I wonder if at rebate processing they got confused by that? My understanding was that items ordered at Walgreens.com are eligible for rebate.

I am SUPER ANNOYED with Walgreens and I'm not shopping there anymore!!

I'm calling them today and I hope their hotline isn't "having technical difficulties and please call back at another time" like the last time I tried calling.

"Super annoyed" and not shopping there anymore? That will be your loss. Wags' has too many deals to pass up; you'll only be hurting yourself.

I presume you, of course, have copies of your rebate submissions. If so, it should be a fairly simple matter of re-faxing your rebate to get it properly redeemed.

It has been noted that Walgreens was having problems with their rebates, and if you had already contacted them, you wouldn't need to be ranting here on the forum. (That is, you would have found out how to get the matter taken care of.)

Gee, thanks for the sympathy.

Hey--guess what? I did try calling them and there was a message saying that there were technical difficulties with the rebates hotline and I needed to call back later. Great!! Like I didn't waste enough time already with their crappy rebates.

I won't be missing out on anything. There's no deal there that I can't live without. Honestly, I have a life and don't have unlimited time to get after WG every month for the rebates they decided not to redeem, and keep my copies in order and ready to re-submit (and then go through that hassle AGAIN) when I find they haven't given me my money.

Luckily I have a Rite-Aid nearby and I like their system the best--it is also the least time-consuming, and most reliable in my experience.

I used to be the biggest fan of Walgreens, but now that I live 50 miles from the closest one, I either have to order off Walgreens.com, or shop there when I am in the area. I've just decided it isn't worth it AT ALL. They should get their act together. If I go through the hassle of buying the right items on the right date, filling out the form + sending in my clearly marked receipts by the deadline, the least they can do is process them properly. Is that too much to ask?

I'm fed up with them. Sorry if it bothers you. Just wanted to know if others were having this problem.

Forgot to mark $10 for the Pepsi deal on the earnings sheet, Walgreens easy saver was nice enough to add $10 to Sept. $40+ rebate total for me and Walgreeens Sept rebate check arrived in one month.

It seems like Walgreens do not feel like paying out for the Oct program. My rebates was submitted for more than two weeks and it's not in their system yet. That might be the last I'll use their rebate program. It's starting to look shady.

You allowed the USPS some time to deliver it? If that's the limit of your patience, you should not get into rebates at all.

They seem to have trouble adding when you need to buy $20 worth of something. I better stick with rebates where they don't have to do any thinking.

I know what you mean, in the past year they have rejected my Bayer, Always, and Unilever rebates (where if you bought $10 or $20 of stuff, they send you a $10 GC). In two cases I was extremely busy (in the middle of a move) and was not able to pursue it, in the other case I called and they verified that I did in fact qualify and they sent my GC. Not worth the hassle, IMO.

Walgreens attempted to screw my wife out of rebates one too many times late last year and early this year. She no longer does rebates there. And she never had more than about $10-$30 a month in rebates. Didn't buy it all or use multiple addresses, just bought the good stuff we could use and not just stockpile.

The totals were massively short, or we got complete rejections in 3 of 12 months. She spent multiple hours on the phone over a couple days to the rebate center and Walgreens corporate office dealing with these.

Long story short of the worst one: The rebate CSR accused her of sending in faked receipts, then changed it to claiming the store clerk kept the original receipt and sent it in herself and then gave my wife a 'non-rebate' receipt (no such thing), then a supervisor said they'd give her a one time courtesey, then the next day there was no proof of any changes to the system other than my wife called and complained and the decision was no rebate would be honored. The corporate office promised return calls and never did, finally the local store manager got a payment for her.

This happened 3 times, but not to this extreme each time. We've not been back since.

Wow, that’s quite a story. Not saying you’re lying, but it’s hard to believe that something that extreme happened. I suppose anything is possible when dealing with a huge corp. like Walgreens.

Except for a couple minor snafus with the August and Sep. rebates, I’ve found Walgreens to be consistenly one of the best ongoing rebate experiences over the several years I have been doing their rebates. My October rebate was about the best single rebate I’ve ever done. I mailed it the Monday after the promo period ended and my gift card was reloaded the next Friday—four days start to finish.

Sorry about your troubles. I’m looking forward to W’s BF sale. There are always some great deals and the place is usually almost empty since everyone else is swamping BB, CC, CUSA, OD, OM, Staplez, etc.

Oh it happened. My wife who normally doesn't get upset and works with honey instead of anger when talking with these robots was just livid after that last one. That one was the worst where she spent half an afternoon on the phone calling and calling back and calling more different places and getting different CSRs and execuses. Luckily we kept all the scans of everything we sent it showing it was the original receipt, not some faked receipt (even the walgreens print from the back side showing through in reverse of the scan a tiny bit), so the local store manager got a refund to her.

It's not worth booring everyone with all the exact details rather than a summary, but she has CSR names, corp office names, supervisor names, local manager names from these calls. But they clearly went down in rebate quality in the last year, and lost us as rebate customers due to it. She still goes to that walgreens for stuff thats needed due to the help of the local staff, but havn't done their rebates since. It's clear the csr had no intentions of helping and made the situation worse by making up stories and accusing and then the supervisor lying that a one time courtesey was going to be done.

It's one thing for these places to screw up, it's another for them to do the purposeful random rejection hoping you won't call them on it, but finaly it's the last straw when they refuse to reverse their illegal rejection when you have the proof in your hand and then go on to harrassing you over your proof and then lying to just get you off the phone. Again the local store was very helpful, the rebate house was the problem coupled with the fact that corporate office didn't follow up, it took the local store to do that.

Well, I hate to post here again, but I sense trouble brewing with my October rebate, as if I didn't have enough problems...I submitted one for my mom's adddress and one for mine, well hers is in the system and says check was mailed yesterday...mine is still not showing up in their system as being received. I mailed them both to WG on the same day. Doesn't look good, who are they hiring to process the rebates anyway?

I'm with you latenight, that's the last WG rebate I am going to bother with. They've lost me. I can get most of the same free stuff at CVS and Rite Aid (my personal favorite of the 3).

Because there seemed to be doubt on someones post about their experience with walgreens rebate, just wanted to post my own experience for nov rebate makes me a believer. Have done walgreen rebates for years - seldom any problem (maybe lost $1 once - called and had things fixed maybe twice). For Nov rebate I recieved one $10 gc and that was it. Was suppose to get two $10 gc and about $15 applied to my regular gc. Never recieved any invalidation notice, or anything other than the one $10 gc so I called. Was told that one receipt was a rebate receipt so didn't qualify (I have never gotten a rebate receipt from walgreens) and the other item was not circled on my receipt. Copies show normal receipt, item clearly circled. Was given a whole lot of information to put on a cover sheet to resubmit - which I did. Still no change so when I called their first question was did I submit a cover sheet? Of course I told them I did - in fact told them the information put on their cover sheet as per their instructions - and was told I should have never submitted a cover sheet! That when a cover letter is submitted, they will not validate your rebate! What the heck. Does that make any sense to anyone? Especially since they gave me the info to put on the sheet. Now they say to put some of the info previously told me on the bottom of each page and resubmit with no cover letter. Hope this is not a new trend of problems with walgreens rebates...

Wow, I'm surprised by all these bad rebate experiences!

I'm very new to the Walgreens rebate system. My first one was in Oct. I got my rebate back in 10 days!!! AND it was over $100!! I was shocked & pretty much spent all those gift cards pretty quick on return trips!

Nov took a little longer than the first one, but i did get it w/o any problems.

My 3rd rebate with them was the Black Friday one which was separate than their normal monthly ones. Just rec'd that a couple of weeks ago w/o incident.

I have Dec in & patiently waiting for it.

So I am 3 for 3 thus far!

Anybody have problems with recent rebates? The last few have been good for me, but my March rebate, mailed in three weeks ago, still does not even show up as received in online tracking. It usually doesn’t take this long to be acknowledged.

I mailed my March rebate around 23/24 march. Check and gift card already received about a week ago.
