Oh it happened. My wife who normally doesn't get upset and works with honey instead of anger when talking with these robots was just livid after that last one. That one was the worst where she spent half an afternoon on the phone calling and calling back and calling more different places and getting different CSRs and execuses. Luckily we kept all the scans of everything we sent it showing it was the original receipt, not some faked receipt (even the walgreens print from the back side showing through in reverse of the scan a tiny bit), so the local store manager got a refund to her.
It's not worth booring everyone with all the exact details rather than a summary, but she has CSR names, corp office names, supervisor names, local manager names from these calls. But they clearly went down in rebate quality in the last year, and lost us as rebate customers due to it. She still goes to that walgreens for stuff thats needed due to the help of the local staff, but havn't done their rebates since. It's clear the csr had no intentions of helping and made the situation worse by making up stories and accusing and then the supervisor lying that a one time courtesey was going to be done.
It's one thing for these places to screw up, it's another for them to do the purposeful random rejection hoping you won't call them on it, but finaly it's the last straw when they refuse to reverse their illegal rejection when you have the proof in your hand and then go on to harrassing you over your proof and then lying to just get you off the phone. Again the local store was very helpful, the rebate house was the problem coupled with the fact that corporate office didn't follow up, it took the local store to do that.
