I just noticed that the new OD rebate forms that start today are now asking for a copy of the UPC if it's for an online or phone order. Up until now they were only asking for the completed rebate form and the receipt. I mention this because OD is finding lots of ways to invalidate rebates these days and I wanted to be sure that we all notice that new requirement on their rebate forms. If you want to see an example, go to https://www.web-rebates.com/OfficeDepot/index.asp and search for product SKU 942728, then look at the first rebate in the list (the one starting today).
Hmmm... does this mean they cannot access any order info for non-store purchases? If yes, will it make rebates easier to fly when there is a coupon, PM, etc?
BS! The majority of OD rebates (online & B&M) have ALWAYS asked for a copy of the UPC. I have 200+ old OD rebate forms from old submitted OD offers saved on my local hard drive. They cover three different rebate processing companies all the way back to the original OD in-house offers processed in Delray Beach, through the Express Group years and finally to the new YA offers and all of them but 3 in December of this past year ask either the original or a copy of the UPC. Nothing has changed.

Nothing has changed. People have said that your responses not only sound authoritative but are also often complete misinformation. This is yet another example of this. It is true that in the past, OD rebates required copies of the UPC. But last year, they stopped doing so (for whatever reason).

It's always a good idea to read the form and submit what is asked for.
