I have problems in getting rebate checks from Vastech. Does anyone have a similar problem? Absolutely no response for phone calls or email inquiry. These are for the Vastech products which I purchased from Fry's Electronics. I finally get the store customer service department involved. 4 months later, Fry's cut me the rebate check. The whole process took 9 months! This is last year. I still have another one which I just complained to Fry's customer service dept. I expect to take 4 more months before I can get my rebate check.

Ditto. No email response, No phone response. Submitted the documents to Frys and will wait for 4 months.

I got stuck on a multimeter around Thanksgiving.

This Manufacturer was new to me, but I have a avoid list compiled over years with Frys and their suppliers that I avoid. Soyo, Kworld, Vastech, Meritline, Q-See, Nova to name a few where the have no website to check status no 800 number, and most unfortunately located in CA.

Advice just stay away from these guys insted of aggravation called in running around for a few $.

You need to follow up with Meritline rebates but you will still get it. 4 rebates and 4 follow up emails. Got all rebates back from Tommy of Meritline. At least Meritline responded, but NOT for Vastech. There is another Vastech multimeter FAR today @ Fry's. I stay away from it.

Thanks for posting this thread. I have rebates due from them for a memory card reader, multimeter, and a USB hub from last year, Oct/Nov. Like you said I have emailed them several times, and been unresponsive. I will try to call them, but don't think they will answer.

Will need to bring my documents down to Fry's and get them involved. I will also disappointed to see Fry's advertise their multimeter and iPod skin in today's ad, when they are so unresponsive to their rebates. Also, I've check the San Jose BBB, and they are listed with an unsatisfactory record.

Get your local Fry's customer service dept involved. You will eventually get the rebates, but will take a few months to go through this. This is how I get back my last 2 Vastech rebates via Fry's. In fact, it is Fry's which sent me the 2 checks. Fry's said they will blacklist Vastech. Apparently, they still carry lots of its products. Just stay away from Vastech!!

I tried calling Vastech, got the answering machine. "Please leave a message... Mailbox is full. Goodbye." *click*

So, I went down to Fry's today today, and talked to the Customer Service Representative. Mentioned I had a problem with the rebate. Showed her my documents. Oh, Vastech she replied back. Guess they know the deal. She said had to contact corporate about it. Will call me back later this week.

I have been sending emails to this company (maybe sister concern of Soyo) with no response whatsoever. Seems I have to drive down to Fry's.

Add me to the list that Vastech hasn't paid out its rebates. Bought a Vastech multimeter at Frys on BF 2006. Called 408-577-1888, mailbox was full. Emailed support@vastechinc.com, never received a response. Would have to stop by Frys one day soon.

Well... Fry's called me back and I think they want to issue me a gift certificate, instead of a check. Asked me to call back so I can talk to the CSR + supervisor.

Gonna try to see if they can issue just a check instead. I don't shop at Fry's that often, maybe once every two months, unless they have something good on sale. Anyways, glad they responded kind of quickly.

I bought a Vastech US204 USB 4-port Hub Nov 4, 2006. I dropped by Fry's store 3 weeks ago with all my rebate document. Fry's promised to follow up this for me. I still have not received any phone call from Fry's yet. It is time to re-visit Fry's again to have another follow up on this. It seems that you got a much faster response. Bottomline is - we need to be proactive to get back our rebate money and DON'T buy any Vastech product with rebate again. Good luck to all those have outstanding Vastech rebates!!

I have $5 in the multimeter and dont mind a gift certificate.

Am also having issues with Vastech rebate - bought a $7.50 Vastech card reader during Fry's Black Friday sale on Nov 24 and there was a $7.50 rebate so it would be FAR. Well it's been over 10 weeks and when I called the Vastech number supplied on the form, the line was disconnected. I did email support@vastechinc.com but don't expect any reply.

Just out of curiosity I was passing by the rebate address 2 months ago and I drove to see the company office on 63 Bonaventura Dr. in San Jose, CA. SHOCKINGLY instead of a company, it was a tiny 1 room office in an office plaza and when you peaked in through the window, there was one computer in the middle of the room and papers strewn all over. No one was there. So Vastech could be one major scam of a company.

In addition, my Vastech card reader doesn't even work right since it distorts all the images transferred via the card. STAY AWAY FROM VASTECH PRODUCTS.

Pls help me report them to the local BBB:

I just filed a complaint with BBB Silicon Valley using the above web link. This is definitely a SCAM. Vastech Inc. is trying to deceive customers by providing FAKE rebate offers. Vastech has no intention of paying these promised rebates. I will print out BBB Vastech Inc. report and bring it to Fry's customer service department. I want Fry's aware of this group of unhappy and deceived customers are taking some action. Any other things which we can do?

Called them up earlier today to following up. Was told that the store has sent my rebate to Fry's Corp. office to resolve. I guess Fry's will pay me with their GC. Also was sending along to Fry's Corp. office is my outstanding Stompsoft $30 rebate that submitted July 06.

alert mods

It is the same situation for me in my last 2 appeals to Fry's store. Fry's store sent my rebate document to its corporate head office. Then Fry's corp cut me the rebate checks. So, I bet you will get a check and not GC. Good luck.

re: RebateFollower

I have three outstanding rebates from Vastech: 1 USB Multi-Card reader $9.50 from early Oct, 1 Multimeter $5 from end of Oct, 1 USB 2.0 Hub from early Nov.

I'm in Los Angeles, so I purchased from multiple Fry's location because they're all about equal distance from me. But for contacting the customer service department, I went to the Fry's in Manhattan Beach, CA.

Anyways, updated on my case... I just contacted back the CSR. She spoke with her supervisor, and said they can only issue a gift cert. Guess they didn't want to involve corporate. I don't feel like dragging it out, and they said the gift cert won't expire. Told me to come down and grab it.

Thanks for the reply. I am in TX. I have $5 on the multimeter pending from Thanksgiving. In the past Frys corporate has sent me the check for bigger amount after 4-5 months. I was too wanting to get a cert and get this issue over with. At least I can propose this to CS at Reg 45.

I called Sacto Fry's. The CSR acted like it was a big surprise but said you can FAX in the documentation with a cover letter explaining that Vastech isn't responding and they will forward it to corporate and you'll get your rebate from Fry's.

Fax Attention to: Customer Relations

Just wanted to update you guys. I went down to Fry's and got a gift card from the CSR for the outstanding amount of the rebate. She was very nice and wanted to give it to me personally to make sure I got it.

Anyways, took about two weeks. I'm happy Fry's took care of it and handled it very quickly. Good luck to you guys.
