I bought a phone set by American Telecom from Office Depot during the black Friday. I sent the required information for rebate at the end of last November. In January I received a postcard telling me that I did not send UPC code. I realized my mistake and sent it immediately. Several weeks later, I received $10 rebate but another $20 rebate never came to my mail. I called web-rebates which is handling rebate and the representatives kept telling me that they are checking on something although everything is in order. At the time I felt something is not right. But I never had any second thought. I kept calling back once a while was always told that they received all the information needed for rebate and the check should be on the way. Three weeks ago, I called again because I never got check and the representative seemed so positive and told me that I should receive the check in three weeks. And if I do not receive it, I should call back in three weeks. So I waited another three week because no check show up. To my surprise, the phone line is not connected to anyone anymore because the rebate offer is expired. Now I realized that they never intended to send me the rebate. What else can I think?!

The similar experience also happened to my request for KWORLD rebate. This rebate is handled by KWORLD REBATE CENTER with no telephone contact. I sent e-mail to the address from the form after 12 weeks not receiving the rebate check. I sent e-mail back immediately and asked for more information. I e-mailed all the information back and never heard from them again.

I had a similar experience.

They told me to remail my information.

I am having the same issue - I have contacted Office Depot as I feel they are responsible.
Go to Office Depot website and lodge a complaint, if they get enough complaints they will perhaps act.

I bought same stuff from Staples - but Staple e-rebate came through, I guess Staples handles it is own rebates.

Best thing to do is avoid ATS (American Telecom).
Everyone beware that ATS (American Telecom) always fail to pay the rebates. I'm still trying to get my $50.00 rebate for the phones that I bought back in October. The last time I phoned the rebate center I got a recording informing me the rebates are closed. They said to contact

City of Industry, CA 90601

CEO Bruce Hahn
President: Donald G Norris

A two months ago I wrote them a letter and stapled copies of all the rebate stuff.
Still haven't heard from them.
Next step I'll try to phone Bruce and Donald, when I get around to it...

UPDATE OCT 2007: Their rebate mess is so bad that they have their technical assistance people handling rebates. Last time I spoke to them was over a month ago. They asked me to fax the rebate form and supporting documents this time. So I faxed them over. (I think this is the 5th time I've submitted)
Guess what.... STILL NO REBATE CHECK !!!!

Beware of Kworld. I sent in all the paperwork and never received my rebate. I followed up with an email but did not receive any reply. I did some research online and many people say the same thing. Kworld is a scam.

Everyone has same problem with American Telecom or PayNTalk. This company did not have web site or email. The rebates customer services have very bad-mannered don’t waste your time and energy chasing this dead beat. If you still have all record, then turn it over where you bought the product. You might get the check form the store where you bought.

Aug 30, 2008 I purchased a Pay & Talk Phone fom Brandmart USA Feb 2008. Two rebates for a total of $50.00 has been sent to the rebate address. On March 7, 2008 received an email from American Telecome services varifying rebate was received. July 2, 2008 called 888-928-7746 & Mr. La Mar said they have a backlog & will send check shortly. Aug 22, 2008 spoke to rep at 888 number. She was very impolite. She refused to connect me to a supervisor. Also said that the rebate check will be sent at there discretion. This matter will be sent to the Federal Trade Commission. Yours truly Abraham Hochhauser
