Before I got it, I was starting to worry that it was lost since mail never takes that long to arrive. Clearly they did not really mail it on the day that they claimed but it wasnt postmarked so I have no way to prove it."Pre-sorted" mail is at the bottom of the food chain as far as delivery goes.Maybe so but I've tracked many a rebate most of which are sent the same way (pre-sorted) and then never take anywhere near that long. They definitely sat on it for a couple of weeks before they actually sent it, which is fine but it would be nice to know that up front. On the plus side, my second rebate (for my second HP1018 bought from Buy.com) showed up on the rebate site 2 days ago and today its already gone on to the last stage (check mailed). This time I wont be expecting the check to arrive soon. Got two more printers from Buy.com enroute now to me now. You can't beat the price ($20AR) and now that its confirmed that they honor the rebates when purchased from Buy.com its a no brainer to grab some more. I'm exercising great personal restraint not ordering a few more today. |

You can't beat the price ($20AR) and now that its confirmed that they honor the rebates when purchased from Buy.com its a no brainer to grab some more. I'm exercising great personal restraint not ordering a few more today. After many, many calls to the service center inquiring as to the whereabouts of my rebate submitted back in July, I am now told verbally that everything is in order and that a check will be forthcoming in 2-4 weeks (ya, right). At this late date I have discovered that the same rebate is now being offered for purchases made from 7/2-9/30/07. Wary of the way the past fiasco unfolded, I once again called the rebate center inquiring as to just what constitutes an authorized HP reseller, since this newest offer requires that the printer be purchased from one of them. I asked specifically about Newegg.com. After placing me on hold to check, the agent returned apparently reading from a list which included Best Buy, Costco, HP, Office Max, Radio Shack and WalMart. She stated that Newegg did not appear on the list of authorized sellers for this promotion and I can only assume that since there was no mention of Buy.com, they would not be included as well. I pressed the agent inquiring as to just how someone would know if the place from which they are purchasing this HP printer would be classified as an "authorized reseller", and her response was that at the time of purchase an authorized vendor would offer you the rebate form either in person or on their site. Can someone confirm that in this particular rebate offering (7/2-9/30), vendors such as Newegg and AMOF are regcognized as authorized vendors as there is no mention of the rebate that I can see on their site? Perhaps their lower price is meant to be in lieu of the rebate? Geez.........I'm getting too old for all this hoop-jumping but if you can realize the savings, it's almost worth the aggravation. |

I called the rebate center and was told that Newegg is authorized and would qualify for the rebate. FWIW, I don't have a status yet for my rebates. |

Thanks to those who battled this early on. I didn't even see the deal until later, and so didn't run into the problems you did. I submitted on 09/09 and just got the following email-- Thank you for participating in the BTS 07 LJ 1018 MIR promotion.
We have received and processed your mail-in submission and have confirmed your eligibility. Please allow 2 to 4 weeks to receive your award.

Anyone have a better number for the rebates. I received only one of my rebates and the other does not even appear online. I call the number and I get an answering machine telling me to leave a message. Anyone find an alternate #? |

sensia said:It's going to be the most confusing rebate fiasco considering all the wordings and piles of right/wrong info. Folks, let's put everything together in a single thread since we need to fight collectively. Over the next few weeks I will be posting updates as I gather from different threads. In the mean time, please do post your experience/confusion/updates. My rebate showed up for the 1018 a couple of weeks ago, this was for offer #S104 -- $15 AR Circuit City deal. Good luck to everyone else. |

Remember, PR is in Atlantic time zone... an hour earlier than Eastern. Maybe you're hitting them off-hours (??) |
