Got email saying packing slip not included in my submission. Well, there was no packing slip in the tiny box that Crucial sends stuff in, and rebate form didn't request packing slip anyway. Is Crucial trying to be like TD, OD, etc?, i.e., big loser by trying to make money through rebate fraud, instead of good products at a fair price? Anybody else experiencing this kind of problem with Crucial rebates? Does Buy.com step up? I assume not. Thanks.

Rebates usually require paper showing proof of purchase........did you send a receipt of any kind? Also, remember, you probably did everything right, but they make money by rejecting you using any little excuse. In the future, I wouldn't deal with Buy.com or rebates of any kind

You should be able to print a receipt from buy.con call the company see if you can fax them a copy of the buy.con reciept you printed to validate your rebate.

After emailing them a couple of times, it looks like they're gonna pay me.

An old post.. but rebate problems are the reason i stopped buying ..
yes. . I stopped buying.

And I only bought used when it became available. I figured it was
better to help otu somebody than a company.

But I'm considering again buying .. which I have started doing.
What I meant is I considered buying when a rebate is involved.

What I think I'd like to see, since I've gotten more sophisticated
with rgards to keeping records, is to see the letters people write to
the companies.

If you have to reply to a company I hope , for our sake, you'll write
a ltter and post it here.

The reason is simple. Some letter might get better results than others.

Maybe we can figure out which do and which don't and help out each other
to get results.

Anyway. It's a thought. And simple to do.

I messed up on a rebate from Buy.com a couple years ago. You need the receipt for the purchase that you can print online from your account. The packing slip does not qualify as a receipt for the rebate. They don't make this clear anywhere, nor do they probably want to.

I think this was an early effort by Crucial to use rebates instead of technology to make money.
