Problems with Cibavision Clear Care Rebate! in: Rebates

Hi,

Wonder if anyone else has come across this issue with the recent Cibavision Clear Care Rebate where you got a free 12 ounce bottle of the lens solution if you mailed in a receipt and UPC code from purchase. I did so about a month ago and was supposed to get $8.99 back. They mailed the rebate offer to my home, which is how I found out about it.

Well, I just went to wonderful rebates.cibavision.com to discover my rebate submission had been DECLINED because there as "No eye exam or fitting fee" receipt included. Of course, I have the offer in front of me and there was no eye exam or fitting fee REQUIRED! You just buy the solution and make in the receipt and UPS code with the form.

I guess most of their contact lens rebates DO require a eye exam or fitting fee receipt so some bozo set the system up incorrectly to require it for this also. Of course, when their system tells me via phone when I called that I am rejected, there only option is to "resubmit the claim to provide the missing information". No option for "IF WE SCREWED UP, PRESS 2"

I guess I have to find a live person on Monday to rebate. Don't ya love it?

Did the rebate from Cibavision in June through CVS for 8.69. Waited 6 weeks no show on the web site. Called and they asked me to resubmit. Did that waited another 4 weeks when it finally showed up. Immediately after showing up it was in the rebate "Declined" section for dame reason "Fitting lens" reason. Checked the rebate offer number on the Pdf, hadcopy etc if they had entered it correctly as there was no pre-requisite for "FITTINNG", there was non. Waited a day or two to call, before I could call my rebate automatically move to the "ACCEPTED" section with a $8.69 amount. a few days after that the check was cut in the mail in 3-4 days in a closed envelope and this reabte was done for me.

I just called Cibavision and the rep looked up my rebate. Before I could even explain that an eye exam or fitting was not required, the rep jumped in and said "Oh, a fitting wasn't a requirement, I'll approve it." He immediately approved my rebate and said I should see the status change shortly and then get my check.

While I was pleased they were aware of the problem and fixed it without my having to say much, I DID have to take time to call to get this fixed in my case and do wonder how many of these rebates have been declined and people are just forgetting about them, causing them to never be paid out.

I understand that most Cibavision rebates are for contact lenses (I've done those too) and a exam or fitting IS required for them so I can see how someone could have innocently overlooked it in their system when setting this offer up.

However, one would think if you're rebate was corrected online and approved months ago without you having to call, they are aware of this problem and should have fixed all of them at that time and then made sure no more were declined in error. Why do people still have to call and point it out to get their rebate processed? Hmmmmm...

I do lots of rebates, I only have to call on about 10% and always get paid eventually, just annoying.

I agree with the basica premises of your frustration and I feel the same too.

In fact I did not call Cibavision mine was corrected itself but I think I waited a week before I was planning to call.

Once the rebate changes a check would be cut in about 10 days and be in the mail soon in a sealed envelope.

I too have previously sent in two of the rebate forms, neither one of which I received the $8.99 rebate check for. One they said I didn't send in the UPC code (which I did) and the other they said was outside of the date indi-cated (which it wasn't). So it appears that this is a bogus offer. I love the product because it's so much more convenient than the other lens solutions out there, but I'm not sure that I will purchase it anymore because of this experience. I'm sure we're not the only ones that this has happened too.

Ditto here. I've sent them two rebates at two different points in time and never heard back. I've emailed and tried calling them to no avail (just sent me on an eternal message loop). I do tons of rebates and this is the first one I've been stumped. No more Ciba solution rebates for me!

FYI. I sent my rebate on June 10, and the rebate showed online on July 8.

They must have a bunch of idiots working over at Ciba Vision. I mailed in a rebate for a contact lens prescription and eye exam over 2 months ago. While going through my desk drawer at work I stumbled over a copy of my rebate submission and realized I never received my rebate check. I went online to check the status and found out they declined my rebate request because I did not include the UPC's - what a joke. I have copies of all the UPC's I sent them. Sounds like they have to many people with their hands in the cookie jar at Ciba Vision. I'll be calling them on Monday morning and will love to hear what their excuse is.

Hi..

Yes I just checked and it seems like I'm having the same problem with Ciba Vision.
My status says "Amount paid is zero or less than the minimum allowed for this rebate; No UPCs sent;"

How stupid is that, it seems liek they doing that every single customer.
I will make sure I never buy Ciba vision aain, I have been loyal to them for the past 10 years, but this just does it.
