Atdec mount from Buy.com Rebate issue Archived From: Deal Discussion

I bought the Atdec TV Mount from Buy.com on BF. I just got it today, it is the correct item but the UPC has a sticker on top of it with the model number TH-32-63-UFM BK. Rebate is for TH-32-60-UFB, and that is exactly what I ordered and received. 32-60 is also what shows up on my packaging slip and the online receipt. The sticker on top of the UPC is not transparent but I can make out that the original UPC shows model number 32-60.

What is going on? Who is trying to pull a fast one, Buy or Atdec? More Importantly, What should I do?

When you do call buy com, you will realize how poor their customer service is...I am not familiar with this deal. If the rebate is processed by one of the big companies, it is better to call them, give the offer number and confirm the UPC barcode is the correct one. Save the copies.

I just received mine from onsale.com and I have the same exact problem.

Same thing with me...
I am sending one email to Buy.com and let's see what's the reply..

On manufacturer site, www.atdec.com, there is no such model listed as TH-32-63-UFM BK !!!!

keep posted and I will keep posted if I get any reply from Buy.com

Received a reply from Buy.com today and looks like we are good to go... should not be an issue here-- mail below from Buy.com

Please be informed that we have contacted our distributor and was
informed that they recoded the product for this promo and there's no
problem with the rebates. Please note that you need to submit the rebate

I found out the new upc code was a sticker on top of the original upc code (that is part of the box).
I peeled the sticker off and cut the upc code out from the box. I am attaching both with the rebate form.

I mailed in the rebate on 11/29, and it showed up as VALID today (12/8). I purchased the mount from Buy.com and mailed in ONLY the overlying UPC sticker as my UPC.

I contacted onsale.com Today 1-888-760-0300 but they gave me the Customer Service for MacMall 1-800-622-6255

They were unaware of the problem however they are investigating it.
Email Margaritar@onsale.com for issues you may have.

We are aware of the incorrect marking on the box. Your box states –UFM BK. Our rebate company is aware of this and all valid and complete claims will be honored. Please mail in your rebate to the address provided on the coupon.

I just got my notification that my rebate was rejected. Here's what I did to get it re-submitted:

1) Call the number listed above 866-875-0970
2) Hit "2" for look up rebate
3) Enter 5 digit zipcode and hit # (hit 1 for yes)
4) Enter last name and hit #
5) After automated machine tells you the rebate is invalid, hit 0 to speak with a customer rep
6) Tell the rep that the submission was valid and you don't have the box for resubmission, but you kept a copy of the receipt or something and you have the proper "UPC" (it's really not the UPC, they are looking for the model number)
7) Give the following model # ad the "UPC" - TH-32-60-UFM BK
8) The rep should resubmit the rebate

This is a huge $60 rebate, and I had a feeling that they were going to try to squirm out of this one, but if you are persistent and follow the above process, you should be able to get it resubmitted with proper information. Btw, I purchased it from Buy.com. during the Thanksgiving sale.

As we know that Atdec's products are very nice and in good quality.They have a lot of experienced engineers for designing,develpoping and testing the new products seriouly and strictly.For example,if the products say max loading weight: 80lbs,they will test by 120 lbs at least!Then test step by setp with more and more heavier weight,unitl it is failed for loading,finally,they just say"Max loading weight:80lbs,actually,it can load around 200lbs"They will never accept the slight distortion or movement even only for 2mm.
I like atdec products very much,such as the Telehook series.
