CompUSA erebates from BF -- problems clearing? Archived From: Deal Discussion

I bought something from CompUSA on Thanksgiving and it has not cleared yet. It shipped Friday so it should have shown up already. Anyone else having this problem? I've triple checked that I entered the info correctly.

I remember last year it took almost a month before my eRebate was validated since they are holding it till the Christmas return period is over.

Mine just cleared. I was reading the email in text mode via Mailwasher, clicked on the first link that looked like it was rebate status, and promptly had it changed to a Visa card. I emailed them and told them to switch it back and that I thought it was really sleazy that the first link in the email was to switch it to a Visa.

Mine is validate now too.

I emailed them a couple of days ago to swith my rebate to check instead of VISA debit card but haven't received any response. When you sign up on the rebate website it defaults to the VISA debit card. If you don't look carefully you don't even realize it. Then it defaults the VISA debit card for all of your rebates.

EDIT: Received an email response. My submissions were both changed from debit card to check.

I purchased a TrendNet Printserver on BF last week and there was a $10 eRebate and I got an email today with " receipt does not match our data". I called them and they said to wait a little long since they might have not received the sales data from BF.

those eRebates are not what they used to be.

Did you buy it in the store or was it shipped? I never enter my erebate until after it ships because if there are problems getting the information it can time out too soon.

It's sad that a process that should work so well has problems so often.

The item was purchased in the store. Also another problem I purchased the FAR router in the store yesterday and entered the eRebte today and now the status shows "No offers matched receipt entered" The new eRebate system for sure it not working right. I guess I have to call up the rebate center again next week.
