I bought ZoneAlarm on 10/12/07 from Fry.com and there was a $40 rebate (offer #4000017). However, the rebate center's email I received today is only showing $30 rebate. I called rebate center and was told Fry.com should be responsible for this. So I called Fry.com and the girl looked up the offer and told me the amount was $30. How could they change the rebate amount? Anybody is having the same issue with this rebate offer?

Consider yourself fortunate, I had to call Fry's.com several times called ALLRebates, called Zone Alarm, faxed the submissions several times, until FRY'S. com finally realized the rebate processor they are using for Zone Alarm is about as legitimate as Brittany Spears as mom of the year. And Fry's.com finally agreed to send me a check in a few months, not holding my breath on that. At least, ZoneAlarm according to several studies is considered the preeminent internet security suite. I have tried CA and Mcafee, and at this point I would have to agree that Zone Alarm is superior.

When I called ALLRebates, Frys.com and Zone Alarm they made no mention of the name change. In fact I have called the 866-568-9228 number several times and never got through, always getting the same message, call the next day. I highly doubt their legitimacy.

When I call 866-568-9228, I get " Thank you for calling Myrebateonline fulfillment center."

I get this cryptic email from them, that my rebate status has changed and is now "not approved." Problem is, they make no mention of what date, store, product, etc. I guess they assume that people only have one rebate out at a time?

Ok, so I go to their website and try to look up my rebate. Unlike most rebate centers that only ask for name and zip, they also ask for Address Line 1. Ok, is that after address standardization? Did anyone abbreviate it? I tried all combos. I guess their query doesn't work. I later find that various people complain about that. Well, gee, maybe they should add more identifying info on their email then.

Through no help from them, I was able to figure out who they were. (Thanks, google).

Sadly, this is the rebate game... obfuscation of information.

Allrebates has apparently been bought out by the Ohana Company. They seem to be just as bad as Allrebates used to be (maybe even worse). They are handling all of the CompUSA e-rebates now too. As an example, they sent me debit cards for rebates that were supposed to be sent in the form of a check.

Be very careful with this company and their rebate offers. I've called three times about rebates that I have pending with them. Today I spoke with Kathy about several rebates that have either not been received or denied. Kathy said they do not have a resubmission process and my only recourse is to contact the original vendor. She said I could fax them in to 8665062977 but they are under no obligation to accept them once the submission deadline has passed. I did fax in two of the rebates a couple of weeks ago but of course they said they have no record of my fax. I'm going to contact Fry's about these rebates and see what they can do. I thought AllRebates was bad but this company takes it to a new level because they have no resubmission process.

Reputable rebate houses give you around 30 days from notification to fix it.

I called today (866-568-9228) and was told that the reason that I have not received the rebate after 12 weeks is the vendor, either Zonealarm or Frys has not sent them the money, therefore, they cannot issue check. She suggested that I just wait. What a BS? Do anyone has the phone number at Zonealarm, CheckPoint really? I has to dig it to the bottom. Has anyone received the check?

Wow, this is a bad rebate processor.

My status for this offer is OK, on their (terrible!) website it says:

4000017-Buy ZoneAlarm Internet Security Suite 3-User Pack at Fry’s Electronics or Frys.com get $40 check
Valid 10/10/2007 - 10/18/2007
Submit By: 11/14/2007
$40.00 Rebate
Purchase ZoneAlarm Internet Security Suite 3-User Pack (SKU # 5259507) at Fry’s Electronics or Frys.com between 10/10/07 and 10/18/07. Not to be combined with any other offer

so mine says $40 as it should.

However, I have another rebate that is Fry's specific but the morons at this rebate processor are unable to locate the purchase date on a Fry's receipt. Remember, the rebate is only valid at Fry's SO ALL THEY ARE SEEING IS FRY'S RECEIPTS - yet they still can't find it somehow...

Do they really think we're that stupid?

im also waiting for my rebate from back in October. I've since stopped doing any rebates for FAR software that doesnt go through Parago. Its not worth the hassle. Rebates that goe through Parago are in your hands in 6 weeks tops.

I'm also having a hassle with the very same morons. They claim I did not submit a receipt, but I'm not new to the rebate game. I copy everything literally right before it goes into the envelope. Oh, and they didn't notify me about the problem until December.

Sure, everybody makes mistakes, but this place appears to be "truth challenged."

I sent my rebate submission for this via CERTIFIED MAIL. Therefore, I have proof that I sent it on time and that it was received by the rebate processing company, www.myrebateonline.com. After the 12 weeks had elapsed, I called them up to inquire about the status. I was on hold for about 15 minutes; then got to talk to someone. I asked about the rebate status. She asked me to hold on and then hung up on me. Called again. Waited 15 minutes. They again hung up on me. Called a 3rd time. Waited 15 minutes. Managed to talk to someone after 15 minutes. Asked about the status again. She said there was no information on file about my rebate submission. I said that I had proof from the US Postal Service that they had received the submission. She said there was nothing she could do and that I need to contact Fry's. Called Fry's. The lady over there asked me to fax my documentation to them. I did that. Have not heard anything yet.

I wonder if I can dispute the transaction with my credit card company. Or is it too late for that?

My rebate status has shown as "qualified" for quite some time. I called last week and they said the status was "Waiting on Funds". Another BS rebate.

alert mods

i tried calling the number on the rebate form several times today, it was a fax

866-568-9228

so i faxed my resubmission, heh

i did Fry's WinCleaner rebate, 2 - $10 rebates and both went to these scammers. one shows as qualified and the other as non-qualified "reason" - no additional information

The representative that spoke with me said that the same product had rebates through five different offers, e.g. Fry's, Circuit City, (and I suppose other vendors), and that they had word this afternoon that the funds had been received, so mine should be fulfilled in the next few days.

Ironically, this was after a follow-up call regarding a rebate on a different item on the same receipt. The representative for that other company was going to forward that case to her supervisor because it was so old.

Hmm, are there any sort of governmental laws regarding Truth in Rebates like there are in banking (the term truth in lending comes to mind?

I was suppose to get a $65 rebate from allrebates.com about 6 or 8 months ago and am still waiting. First I was told to allow 12-16 weeks for delivery then when I called after that they said you have to call within 4 months to dispute a claim. uhhmm....16 weeks is 4 months!

Frys told me all the instructions to get the refund and said to make sure I do it exactly as they say because allrebates will try anything to not pay you the rebate. Of course allrebates denied my claim because I didn't send the original sales receipt with each rebate for. I sent the rebate receipts, but that is not enough.

I contacted the company that was using allrebates and sent the lady about 12 or 13 sites that showed customers that were very upset with allrebates. Hopefully companies will see this and stop using them. Does it surprise anyone that the Better Business Bureau rates them as unsatisfactory??
