CompUSA E-REBATE Strategy?
1. Cancel any orders that are still being processed?
2. Refuse delivery on orders that can't be cancelled?
3. Return everything that you can?
4. Accept a Prepaid Visa or Visa Virtual Prepaid Card delivered in 2-3 weeks in lieu of a creque in 8-9 weeks?

1. Just cancelled an order. Phoned 1800COMPUSA. Got a live agent with difficulty. Was told worryingly that the refund would hit my credit card in two to four weeks. Initial payment was made through Google Checkout. Can I, should I, attempt an AMXEX charge back?

If you are not satisfied with a product you purchased from us and you return the product with the original receipt or invoice within 21 days of purchase or invoice date, you may exchange the product or receive a refund, except as explained below. MANUFACTURE vs CompUSA REBATES
Supposedly e-rebates starting with 00 are from CompUSA and are consequently most exposed.
I believe that calm is in order here.
CrapUSA has not gone BK, and they are attempting to first clear out merchandise, sell stores, and then the real estate. As long as they stay in business, they will be obligated to fulfill rebates. If/when the file for BK, you should have recourse with your credit card bank. Back in the day of cyberebate, my bank processed the claims I filed on the few offers that were not fulfilled, and have helped pressure deadbeat rebate promoters to make good. You don't want to go to this well very often, and I would no longer buy anything from CrapUSA that includes a rebate, but there is no reason to panic on any existing promotions.
