Just a heads up.

I immediately submitted all of my Staples Easy Rebates from in-store purchase on Black Friday (2007). Of course one ended up having to be mailed (the Acer LCD monitor), therefore not 'easy', but amazingly got it back in just 3 weeks, so fastest of all.

Anyway, I FINALLY received the final BF rebate today... the '$20 gift card' portion of the Samsung monochrome laser printer rebate.

It arrived as a gift check and not gift card, and also has a 90 day expiration on it from date of printing (Feb 12th).

I do not recall any information on the ad, printed rebate or online easy rebate that stated it was a gift check with an expiration date.

I only get to the closest Staples store once every 12 months on Black Friday (200 miles away) and haven't ordered online in years since no good deals other than BF.

Just wanted to warn others to be sure to use it up quickly. Does anyone have and proof they disclosed this fact before purchase?

I too got mine a week ago. The print Ad stated $20 GC, I did get a GC in the store. Online AD stated gift check at least on the web page and the rebate form while filling for online rebate so I guess SOL on the gift check.

Just use the the Gift Check to buy Norton or whatever s/w with a coupon to cover for taxes and convert it back to cash. Hopefully there should be some deal in a three month window ?

Same problem here. At least they take check online. Hope it has no duplicated numbers.
