Last Nov., I bought an Insp 530 from Dell. It was told that I would get a $100 gift card with the system. I contacted with the customer service many times for the gift card. Everytime, the customer service told me that I would get my gift card soon. However, I haven't got it. This time, they sent me an email and told me that they could only send a $100 coupon to me. I told them that I didn't want the $100 coupon. I just want my $100 gift card. However, they insisted that the $100 coupon was the only choice for me.

Could someone tell me whether I can send a claim to BBB for what Dell did? If I can, could you send me the link?

Thank you very much!

How does the gift card differ from the coupon? What restrictions are on the coupon?

I met such situation before. Dell didn't send me a $70 rebate. At last, they gave me a $75 coupon. The coupon can only be used in EPP division, cannot be used with other coupons, will be expired after 60 days.

I don't have a gift card from Dell. I found from Dell's website that the gift card can be used as cash and will not expire. Therefore, I think the gift card can be used in any division of Dell, and can be used with other coupons. Thus, a $100 gift card is much better than a $100 coupon

Yes, the gift card is much better.

I have filed a claim with BBB before and they ultimately did nothing. (Against a different company, not Dell.) You would have to find the BBB location that Dell is a member of. City and State. Dell may not even be a member.

I have never seen the Dell deals with the gift card. Was it a "fatwallet" good deal?

I think it is a "fatwallet" good deal. Insp 530, 22'' wide screen LCD, Core 2 Duo 6550, 1GB RAM, 250GB HD, $540 or less with $100 gift card.

I would dispute it with your credit card company. I believe you have 60-90 days. Simply tell them you didn't get what you ordered. They usually do a dispute and might even credit you the $100

I had the same problem, some Dell nut said I was not qualified for $100 GC because they did not charge my credit card for over $1000, so cheap. Since 60-90 days is over, guess BBB is the only choice if Dell refuse to granted the order.
