Guys,

Its been 50 days since I sent my $100 rebate to worldwiderebates.com and the status showed that its not yet received documentation. I called CSR and was asked to mail in copies again. Not sure how has been others experience in this.

Its $100 rebate and its starting to get me worried.

update : Sept 8, 2008: Got mine rebate for $100. I did have to mail in a copy of my rebate form again and it took them about 3 weeks to approve and then about 4 weeks to send me the check. Its a slow but did work okay.

I bought 3 of these. I purchased 3 of the regular powermonkeys with $50 rebates and I got $150 back with no problems, so I trusted that I would get this rebate with no problems. I hand-carried the rebate form to the Post Office on the last day to have it postmarked manually because I was unable to send it earlier. I received confirmation that they received it, but then I received a denial because it was late. I checked their copies of the documents and saw that the manual postmark was on there, but there was a bigger and easier-to-read electronic postmark showing a date 2 days after the due date. I e-mailed them and told them to review the documents and to process my rebate. I got a quick response confirming that my rebate was valid and being processed. Recently, when it came down to issuing a check, they sent a confirmation e-mail indicating they were issuing a check for only $100 (claiming it was "limit 1 per household"). The original instruction sheet, which I still have a copy of, shows "Unlimited part numbers per rebate offer. Must provide UPC barcode per each item rebate
amount to be claimed." and the website initially said "Limit 99 per household" (now it conveniently says "Limit 1 per household") so I e-mailed them contesting their decision. I haven't heard from them since Thursday. I hope they fix this mistake as quickly and easily as they fixed their first mistake.

Just FYI, I purchased 3 of the PowerMonkey eXplorer Solar for $110 each with a rebate of $100 each, with the rebate processing company of WorldWideRebates.com. The rebate form indicates, "Unlimited part numbers per rebate offer. Must provide UPC barcode per each item rebate amount to be claimed." and the rebate registration web page indicated, "Limit 99 per household." When I registered my rebate online, it accepted my 3 item purchase on the one rebate submission, then I mailed it in with the required documents. I also received confirmation from WorldWideRebates.com that my rebate was received and would be processed for $300. Then I received confirmation that a check was sent for $100, the amount of a rebate for one of the items. I e-mailed them asking about the other $200 in rebates and they responded with:

"The terms and conditions state that the rebate offer is subject to change at any time. You signed for the terms and conditions thereby stating that you understand the above mentioned statement. unfortunately, PowerMonkey changed the rebate offer and will not honor your other two rebates. please consult them about a refund if necessary."

I've e-mailed PowerMonkey with this info, requesting a refund of my $200 or a return of the remaining two items for a full refund. Anyone have any suggestions on how I can proceed with action against WorldWideRebates.com and/or PowerMonkey? Or am I held to the statement, "The terms and conditions are subject to change at any time."? Anyone else buy multiple items?

I bought one, sent it in like a normal rebate, and it processed and I deposited the check last week.

I like that they sent a link with a copy to a scan of the rebate when they received it, so that if there were any issues, they already have a copy of what they received you can refer to (instead of having to upload a scan of yours to debate the point).
