I really want that happen! After all iPad has a closed OS and it's all play and no work.

It's open to multiple manufacturers licensing its OS and making devices that run it. This is in comparison to Apple, which only lets iOS run on its own devices.

surface is a great tool. but it will be very expensive, and based on your ipad versus laptop post, it will NOT suit your needs.
YES the current surface can take on the current gen ipad, but by the time it is afforadable, ipad will have had two more generations to get even better.

Surface+ Win 8+ Ultrabooks+ Windows Phones= -Apple

Still too early to tell until the Surface's specs and pricing is revealed. Then you need to see some reviews. A potential problem I see for Microsoft is that the average person will not realize that there is a big difference between the Regular/WinRT/ARM version and the Pro/Win8/Intel version. Most people will probably want the Pro edition, but that is likely going to cost more than what the typical Windows user pays for a desktop or laptop. The RT version pricing is more friendly, but you cannot use your regular Windows applications which means right now, there are almost zero programs written for it.

If the Surface's pricing is too high, then hopefully for the sake of the platform there will other vendors who introduce similar products at a better price.

Microsoft have not always offered products at friendly prices. Surface is primarily going to target the high end segment of the tablet market.
