people who keep gushing about tablets have yet to share their experiences of using them to:

~edit someone out of a picture
~type a resume
~create a presentation
~play a game (and not browser based)

The Windows Surface Pro is basically an ultrabook in a tablet form factor with detachable keyboard.

in other words an oxymoron....the whole point is to NOT have a keyboard

"oh hey, we're going to cut this laptop in half and just sell you the screen at the same price....you can buy the keyboard but it will cost extra"

The whole point, from Microsoft's point of view, is to have a keyboard when you want one, and to either remove it or fold it out of the way when you don't. So you can have an ultrabook experience when you're in a position to need one, and otherwise can use it like a tablet.

It's not clear if the Surface tablets will include a Touch Cover, or if it'll be purchased separately. Like many other details, it remains to be seen.

With limited storage and kind of display size, Surface cannot kill ultrabooks. In-fact ultrabook would come as a hybrid laptops.

What the hell does "hybrid laptop" mean?

How many times are you going to ask this? haven't you heard of the search engine called Google?

That one, Taichi, looks awful. It switches between Windows 8 and Android, depending on whether it's being used as a tablet or docked (even wirelessly) with the base. From what I can tell, it probably has separate CPUs in the base and in the "tablet" screen, necessitating the switch in OS.

Note that the Surface isn't a "hybrid" device. It's a tablet with a keyboard cover accessory.

I seriously doubt all ultrabooks will convert to tablets, or a "hybrid" device. Not even Apple is making everything a tablet, they just double-downed on a new MacBook Pro.

So Microsoft's Tablet Costs $599 and Googles costs $199.

I wonder who will win.

We don't know what the Surface will cost. $599 is just an unconfirmed rumor, although I believe Microsoft has stated that the pricing of the Surface RT will be "comparable" to iPad and other 10" tablets.

Google isn't targeting the iPad or Surface market. They're going after the Kindle Fire.

For how long? Hehe. Docs works on the tablet already.

Apple does not have significant share in laptop market. Why would Microsoft do an Apple in the market where they are already dominating.

I don't understand this at all. What are you trying to say?

Microsoft is moving into the tablet market; they're not abandoning the laptop market. They want pretty much every computing device out there (phone, tablet, laptop, dekstop, server) to have a Windows option.

Easy. Microsoft's tablet, of course.

I love my google Tablets, but they are a joke compared to something running Windows.

Preferences:
- Phone: Android > iPhone > everything else
- Tablet: Windows > iPad2 > iPad3 > Android

Why do you prefer the iPad2 to the iPad3?

iPad3 is slower on some apps
graphics on iPad3 are not as smooth on many apps. Try turning a page on an ebook application.
iPad3 is noticably heavier
