i knows apple tv can display ipads, chromecast for android tablets. i have a big tv used as a display and would like to be able to wirelessly connect multiple platforms/devices.

You'll likely need to have multiple devices connected to the TV, since there isn't one standard that companies are using for this.

Chromcast actually can stream from several iOS apps, as well as from Chrome browser on PCs. Support is likely to expand.

I am looking for the same thing! I have Apple devices and Android phone and its painful to have to switch between inputs and when you add the latest game console, you quickly run out of inputs

I read on some A/V site there was a project that might be combining them all into one device but it was still early stage.
