Nice find! I like the eBay integration Green for you OP!!

Ummm, I find it VERY interesting that there is no reference to this product ANYWHERE on Microsoft's website(s) - any of them!
Contrary to the ideawins website statement, it is NOT listed as one of the Office 2007 programs (still in Beta, by the way).
Here is a link to show ALL the different programs in the different versions of Office that will be available.

I could be wrong as I don't work for MS and don't know everything about their plans but ...

I find it VERY interesting that you have no idea how to search.

OK Smartypants,

I am a MSDN Subscriber so I am WELL aware of MS Office Accounting 2007 BETA, and have been for a long time. I am also a 25-year IT veteran but I didn't do the whois search so I should have found the ideawins ownership reference. Not to mention the MS copyright notice (but hey, hackers have done phishing sites that are VERY believable.)

HOWEVER, show me any reference to a full or final version of anything (non-Beta, in other words)called "Microsoft Office Accounting 2007 Express." anywhere on the main MS or Office site.
There isn't one. Thus my post.

Interesting way to launch a new product, and I am pretty surprised I didn't see it in my monthly DVD shipment, but I will be checking it out.

By the way, "smartypants" was NOT my first choice.

Thanks

If U're really a 25-yr IT vet, you should've done a whois and find out the answer.
I agree that there is no where on the site saying that this is a FULL VERSION.
When was the last time MS has given out a FULL VERSION for free?
The OP either mistakenly says it on the title or gets too excited about download this new product

how about integration with fedex.com, does it have that?

The whole idea behind this is so that the partners can gear up to sell the professional version when it comes out.

And this is the full version of the express edition. Exactly as it says in the title.

It costs $$$ to develop this software and MS is giving it away for free? Maybe this is part of Microsoft marketing strategy.

Ya think?

thanks op

Very nice! Thanks OP.

Although I noticed it's a "Express" version, like kinda how Outlook "Express" is free, but its a much crappier version of the regular Outlook.

What's the point of this post? Just curious... I guess, I'll throw out "In for one"... or "attaboy"...

Or should we just say that he was unable to find it because Microsoft Search S**KS big time.

Thanks OP. Downloaded a copy. Not sure what I'll do with it, but free is free. Isn't that the FW spirit?

paypal? eBay? sounds like some personal microsoft money program not a professional accounting software.

Free. My favorite.

Just go to:

http://sba.microsoft.com/release.html

and click on the "Office Accounting Home" tab at the upper right.

BTW, this is in general and not directed to anyone in particular, but tell people how many years you have been in one industry does not buy one any recognition in my opinion. Especially when it was followed by some unfounded comments.

e.g.

"I am a doctor for 20 years and I have not seen that before."
"I am a mechanic for 20 years and it has always worked for me."

thanks op, amazing download speed

Sweet! Green for you OP! I'm looking for a free account software that suits me and my partner's business!

free is always good, 20mins left in download. thanks op

can we use this to replace quicken or ms money?

WOW. I started at 12MB per second in download and it quickly dropped to an average of 1.2MB/s

That has to be the quickest download speed EVER for a home internet. And that is odd considering that comcast said I will max out at 6MB/s.

If you don't know what the point of a 'thank you' is. A great resource is 1-800-get-clue. They also cover 'you're welcome', 'please' and 'good morning.' As an added bonus, they give an introductory course entitled 'Basic Human Interaction.'

thx op

stop stealing my bandwith!

The FW effect- Bandwidth crunch. I am only getting 400k

Thanks OP. down to 200k for me

This is a 'free' program, and will remain so (for the foreseeable future). It is intended to replace the paper and pencil accounting system... and to provide and entry level for the new 2007 Office Accounting Program that will be released next year. This is designed to get business's started, and once they are hooked, get them to upgrade to the new Office 2007 (and Live Office). This is a great program for most 'mom and pop' business's' however many will find that it falls a bit short of what they want in the long run, and as such will be ready for the 'upgrade' when it becomes available.

(Think Outlook Express vs Outlook)

Unless you mean RESALABLE full versions for free, then right, never.
