BLAT.EXE is like BMAIL.EXE except that it supports authentication.

You get get BLAT.EXE from http://www.blat.net/

First put BLAT.EXE in your C:\\windows directory or the directory you want to work with.
then go to command prompt and install a profile by typing:

blat -install yoursmtpserver.net YourEmail@domain.com - - - username password

the "-" are for the default settings for [<try n times> [<port> [<profile> if you want to know what they do then check out
http://www.blat.net/examples/install&profile.html

After that you can test it by entering:

blat -to TOemail@domain.com -subject "TEST" -body "TESTING"

You should receive a email.

BLAT.exe with Webmon.

In WebMon go to Tools -> Preferences
Click on "Update alerts"
Check the "Run the following command when an update is found:" box
Put in: blat -to TOemail@domain.com -subject "ALERT" -body "%1 %3 %2"
Click on OK

If you put BLAT.EXE in another directory besides C:\\windows you may have to specify it.
Of course you can change the subject and body to whatever you like.
You can text message yourself by using your text message email.

Now you can do a true test to see if it works. Try webmoning a fast changing site and see what happens.
Hope this helps.

nice post. What email are you using with blat? I don't have an email that works with this

I use my ISP's email account. I think any account that doesn't require SSL will be fine.

Thanks DK. My ISP won't let me use any other SMTP servers on Port 25 and it's too much of a pain to reconfigure the firewall to allow any other port, so this worked great instead of bmail for me!
