Backing up your data is like an insurance, you never have to worry if disaster strikes. Now there’s no more excuse for lost data – this insurance costs you nothing! If your system and data are safe now, keep them that way with Drive Backup 9.0 Express. This simple easy to use software doesn't ask you bewildering questions-it just backs up your data when and where you tell it, and recovers whenever disaster happens.
AFAICT based on a quick look - the free version doesn't offer the option to schedule regular backups.
You might want to use this once in a while (weekly? monthly? image your drive at least once, now, unless you want to redo all the setup when it crashes) - but also use something like Karen's Replicator to automatically run a daily backup of your files. Having it run automatically is the main point of having a backup program.
BTW, even if you don't want it for backups - one thing a good drive imaging program can be really useful for is moving to a new computer, or (especially) upgrading your boot (system) drive, by copying the partitions to the new drive with all the hidden files and other Windows stuff intact.
