That is a netbook that won't compare in performance to any of the above laptops in any significant way. Netbooks are not replacement for regular laptops.

I never tried acer but I liked the HP Compaq presario which i almost bought 2 yrs back from OfficeDepot in a labor day deal. I would give it a GO-FOR-IT due to its amazing sound/graphics quality of the model.

Just from a performance side, you will be much happier with the Acer. The Core 2 Duo is a better performaing processor and is better for battery life. Overall, I think you will find the better performance as you do more with pictures, videos, etc.

This is just a question. The computer guy that fixes our computers says Acer parts are sometimes hard to get and take a while. Anyone ever experience that? Just curious because I am also in the market for an cheap (or shall I say affordable less expensive laptop) and wasn't sure what to go with. The computer guy in my town says Dell or HP. your thoughts?

I wouldn't worry about the availability of repair parts. The only easily replaceable parts that often fail on a laptop are the hard drive and power supply. Full-size laptops use 2.5" sata hard drives that are standardized. Power supplies are easy to get. Any other repairs will cost close to the cost of the computer and not be worth doing.
