Does anyone know if I can take the sim card out of a brand new 300minute net10 LGphone and put it in a used Tracfone LG phone and then activate the tracfone (its a nicer phone) with my ported number?

Probably not. those things are branded.

Are both phones with the same mobile phone company?

Tracfone owns Net 10 but they didn't start out as the same company.

Their business models and phones are different. I haven't seen any mention of compatibility between the 2 companies (Unlike using a TMobile2Go with a normal TMobile)

The SIM cards in Tracfone and Net10 phones are not only locked by brand, but are locked to that particular phone:

I don't understand why Net10 sent me a Tmobile Networked Phone instead of ATT Networked version. ATT has better Coverage in San Francisco Area. (At least the areas I frequent)

Probably because they got a deal with Tmobile. It's all about Cost after all.
