I have read a lot of good thing about Pioneer KURO KRP-500M, how does this set compared to the top of the line Samsung LCD such as series 950, 6000, 7000 and 8000 in term of picture quality?

Honestly, the chances of someone having this specific model TV and also browsing the FW Technology forum aren't very good... You never know, but you'll get a much quicker answer if you do some searching on your own. AVS forum would be a good place to start.
All Pioneer 8th and 9th generation Kuro HD panels are the world's best HD displays. The KRP-500M was built with Pioneer's 10th generation glass is the is the best of all of the Pioneer Kuro's ever made. Here's a link to more information and a great sale for $1699

-RobertThat may or may not be true, but if I were OP I'd take those comments with a grain of salt, as he's advertising his own business.

As far as Plasmas go, Pioneer clearly makes the best sets. The Kuro is their standard line, Kuro Elite is the high end. The KRP is a bit of an exception to the rule as they use many of the Elite components, but are not Elites (and not priced as such either). The KRP is also a monitor... not a TV... so there is no tuner and speakers are optional (most people who are looking at the KRP are going to have their own HT receiver/speaker setup and either a cable/satellite box). If I were in the market for the best HDTV today with image quality being the #1 concern, I would be looking at the KRP or Elite (yes, over the Samsung).
Samsung, IMO, makes the best LCD/LED HDTVs. I would say the Pioneer and Samsung are both in the same league, and preference/best simply depends on what your priorities are. Not gonna start the Plasma vs LCD war here... go read AVS if you want more info.
In short, to answer your question directly, the Pioneer has the best picture quality available today... regardless of technology. Better than Samsung.
So many people sit on the sidelines with their 27" standard def CRT, debating what $1500 or $2000 TV to buy and never actually doing it, always waiting for the next big thing like LED to come down in price. If you have a 27" CRT, stop waiting. Even the cheapest 40" 1080P LCD you can find will look amazing if you sit close enough to it, and you can get that for under $600. Is LED better? You bet - but the difference between LCD and LED LCD is subtle, nothing like the difference between SD and HD.
With Pioneer set to leave the plasma market early next year, many people are skiddish about buying a Kuro. The facts are that Pioneer is still going to service the sets and isn't going out of business and time soon. I personnally wouldn't have any reservations at all about purchasing one. The Kuro you are looking at is going to give you just about the best picture you can buy anywhere, at any price. And, it's a lot less than competing sets that aren't going to look as good. This is a great time to scoop up a Kuro before they are gone.
Buy this great panel from whoever you like and can find it, preferably get one from an authorized dealer.
My company sells all brands of HDTVs so I have no business preference, but I do have a very strong professional and personal preference. My preference is clearly Pioneer's KRP-500M and I am surrounded by great company as every single professional reviewer agrees with my choice.
