THe simple Q first. Does any Opera user have a list of forums they can recommend for Opera Browsers 8.53 and 9.63? -- Q2. I have Opera 9.63 and am confused as to whether or how to use only the keyboard to highlight words. I ask this question because Opera 8.53 is a dream to highlight words using only the keyboard and I really like it. But not all sites work well with it as it's older. It's my main browser though and I would not trade it unless I was forced to. With Opera 8.53 Using the hotkey of D or E I can highlight a word or phrase very fast and clip it using Ctl-C. (1) 9.63 doesn't work this way. I wanted to know if there are some keystrokes that do work that way. I searched and found the hotkeys but none seem to do what Opera 8.53 did. It's like Opera took away this feature and did not leave it in 9.63 in any form at all. But if it's in there and you know how to move from word to word without the mouse I woudl appreciate knowing. Thanks
If you know I'd appreciate the help. Thanks. (1) If you have read some of the articles about how the keyboard only can be faster than using a mouse and want to try it out then you will certainly enjoy using Opera 8.53. I've used a comptuer since DOS 3.3 came out, about 1985, and Opera 8.53 let's you do nearly anything without leaving the keyboard to reach for the mouse. eg. If the above sentence was on a web page and I want to highlight some of the text so as to include it in something I'm writing I can use Ctl-F to type in a part of a word in the line I want. Once the cursor goes there I can hit D or E and move forward and backwards from the word highlighting automatically. What I highlight can be clipped using Ctl-C and pasted into my other docutment with Ctl-V. It sounds like more work than using the mouse but it's not. But I also agree that it's probably only best used for people who actually write down things when they're online. |
