I keep getting these error messages on shutdown of my laptop. I know it is casued by Norton AV but have done updates and reg cleaners and I am still getting it. Does anybody have a solution short of uninstalling Norton?

There is also some message re the memory could not be written.....

I think your best bet is to remove the application and reinstall it.
I good route since it's a symantec product is to use the Norton Removal Tool.
Here's a direct link: http://service1.symantec.com/Support/tsgeninfo.nsf/docid/2005033108162039

Don't forget to run all windows updates for your os.

Here is a direct link to NORTON for the fix.

Let me know if it works. This is for Norton 360. You didnt state which version you were using (but may work on all versions)

I tried that before posting. Didn't work. I also chatted with symantec and they fixed it remotely. Uninstalled AV 9 and installed 10. It worked while he unchecked everything (except AV10) under the boot.ini menu in msconfig, but after turning it back on I still get the message.
I am now using Anti Virus 10.

Thanks for your help.

uninstall your norton av--> delete register data---> restart your laptop--> reinstall norton av
