I have my daughter's video from hospital on her day of birth, and a lot of precious videos and photos took using my canon hd camcorder on a Transcend 16gb card. Today, I was at Great America park, the camcorder struck against a rock slightly, that's it. The camera wouldn't read the card. I came back home and tried in all my computers, it keeps showing 'drive not formatted'. I'm very desperate to retrieve my daughter's video. I would greatly appreciate any information on how to retrieve the files. Thanks.

EASEUS has a good & affordable data recovery utility - I believe you can even download it & run it, and you don't have to buy it until you know it will work.

R-Studio is another good one, but not quite as easy to use.

I've had some luck with Photorec http://www.cgsecurity.org/wiki/PhotoRec
And Recuva has been great for me http://www.piriform.com/recuva

Agree with Recuva and you may also want to check out PC Inspector Smart Recovery.

Look at portable apps and take a look at disk digger and Restoration. I used DD myself and it's wonderful.

Thank you all for your help. I finally found the perfect tool, a life saver, http://download.cnet.com/CardRecovery/3000-2192_4-10472984.html paid $40 via paypal, it recovered every .mts and .jpg files
