In India - output laptop display to laptop display

So I had a heck of a time trying to get this going last night.. I'm at the point where I think it's a NTSC/PAL display issue?

Tried a 17" 2nd gen macbook pro dvi to component cable
tried a 17" 2nd gen macbook pro dvi to vga adapter - vga to composite adapter
tried a 15" macbook unibody display port> dvi adtpert with the above options
tried a Lenovo x301 vga to composite adapter.. no luck.

any ideas?

Not clear on what you are trying to do. You are connecting the macbook OUT to a cable... what is the other end of the cable going to?
