I feel like an idiot. Somehow I have changed the default Save As view. (e.g from Firefox, Thunderbird, other apps) so that the list of folders/ files does not come up in alphabetical order.

Therefore I am constantly changing to detailed view and resorting.

For the life of me, I cannot figure out how to change it back.

Help me please

This seems to have worked
"Open a common dialog box, change the view to the one you want, and thenhit Ctrl/Cancel. Yes, it's counterintuitive"

Gives me alphabetical list view. Anyone now how to get it into a Detail view?

Don't know if it helps, but tweakui allows some adjustments under the common dialogs option.

Open a folder and set it to the view you want. Then go to Tools, Folder Options, View and click Apply to All.
